Hi all, I have a VU SS with very worn leather on steering wheel and needs to be replaced, does anyone know where I can get leather retimed, preferably on west side of Melbourne? Also can the vu steering wheel be replaced with vy version? Thanks, Leon

cost wise you are better getting a brand new one. I priced up with my upholsterer and even with mates rates not worth it.

How much did he quote you? There is a bloke here in Adelaide doing
them for under $200 on an exchange basis. All the new wheels I
have priced are around the $400 mark.

Not the same model but see also Australian LS1 and Holden Forums (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=111510)
Check out www.holmart.com.au and www.nvu.com.au to see what they have - possibly cheaper to buy new one through them if they have something suitable.

To replace a VT, VX/VU with a VY or a VZ wheel, you'll need a new airbag as the centre sections (or whatever you call it where the airbag mounts) are different.
