Prob just a regas mate.. if youve noticed it slowly getting worse then i would tend to think a regas is the solution

how much is it generally for a regas?

low gas levels, Prolly comp seals (front) or the hose seals.

Not sure for your car but a mate did his honda for $60. I've seen it up to $85.

Sounds about right. You might have to pay a little extra if seals are gone (which is likely since the gas leaked out).
Hope for your sake it isn't the AC compressor.

Didn't you just have a cam package done johnmekLS1? Was the aircon working prior to this?

Place near me advertising $100 for regas - plus $50 for dye test - wound up $400 for me due to receiver drier replaced and nut on pipe stuck, pipe broke - new pipe etc etc. (for a 97 VS V6 Exec).

I just spent another $139 for a regas and $45 for the dye test.
It was the second time in a year. One of those things were I got it gassed ... then over winter didn't use the air con ... then by the time summer came around again, then it was too late to see where the dye was leaking.
This time, I found the leak myself
Australian LS1 and Holden Forums (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=112275)
And a forum member and myself are going to fix it in his garage :)
He's got gas, i've got seals and on recommendation I bought a new receiver dryer to put in when we do it.
So far the only expense has been the Receiver Dryer at a bank balance shattering $16 from Repco.
I will have a full run down on just how cheaply you can "do it yourself" soon :)

It might be a regas it might be more. I just recently spent $750 getting the Monaro's air con fixed. Similar thing actually. I got back from a short drive and heard a hissing coming from the car in the garage. I didn't think much of it and assumed it was just the cooling system releasing some pressure into the vent bottle. Got in the car the next day and no air con. It was the pipe which runs from the firewall to the compressor which had a hole in it. They had to replace the whole pipe together with the receiver drier. Over $400 just for the parts and then labour. Not wrapped but I'm glad it is working today.

My wife said the same thing to me about her Pathfinder.
Turned it on to find she had it on fresh air, not recirculating.
In these temps of 45 degrees and no humidity, it's a big ask to expect cold air.
