have u got a second key??

similar thing happened to me, my doors would not unlock and i had to unlock manually setting the alarm off. a pcm reset got it working in the mean time, but i went to Mr Minit and got a new key done.

just a suggestion, there might be other resolutions...

i think theres a fuse for the PCM, im not 100% as i didnt do it on mine and stupid me wasnt paying attention when it was done.

i only received my car with one key also, it would be wise to get a second cut wether this is the problem or not.

follow this link, print off the coupon, and get a second key done at mr minit. only costs 80$ or so.

The PCM has nothing to do with the central locking of the car. If the lock and boot button work it is most likely a key problem. You can try and disconnect the battery but i dont think it will help. You cant change the battery in the key. You will need to get a new one.

I have had similar problems with two different commodores, don't know if it will help in this situation but i would try to unlock the car using the button it would unlock but not enough to release the handle, i soon worked out when i pressed the unlock button the inside manual push up and down tab on the door dosen't raise all the way or enough to unlock the door properly when pressing the button. I then persisted in spraying some silicon lube around the manual tab and within a few hours the door worked again.

Hey ed, I had a vu ss ute with exactly the same problem and it turned out to be the key battery. You wont be able to start the car if the key battery is dead. The imobiliser wont let you so if you cant start her then i would say it deffinantly is the key battery.
Other than that dont know.
Best of luck mate,

Andy.

hey andy,

car still starts, just the fact that the unlock doesnt work...have to put up with alarm going off everytime i open it manually. sux. Will need to maybe take it to holden and get them to diagnose it.

Under the bonnet in the relay circuit box. Check that the relay is working mate. It should be marked on the lid to the cover.
Cheers,

Andy.

Might sound a bit off track but a while back at the Final Inspection Detailing Clinic 3 or 4 of us had this Identical problem still a mistery ,but we had to put it down to where we were all parked appeared to be some sort of electrical interference ...Is it happening when in a certain place or all the time??

mate I would still advise you to get a second key cut "just in case".
