Turning off Horn alarm

Hey i just got a Vy clubsport and everytime i lock the car up the horn beeps at me just wondering if there is a way to stop the horn from beeping when i lock it? had a look threw the mode button but nothing in there just fuel usages and the like

in VE its just a menu setting ...

dont know why on EARTH youd want a 'bip bip" on alarm activation. Imagine trying to sneak in or out quietly (even after pushing the car down street and up dirve with engine off) trying not to get detected by ya mrs and the sucker goes BIP BIP wake up planet earth.

When the cars ignition is turned on, after the Holden start up thing push the arrow button (up or down) to enter the menu of settings....in there is the alarm settings whether you want to horn to sound or just have the indicators flash, very easy mate :)

ok well it is set to indicators flash not indcators and horn but the damn horn still beeps at me when i lock it:(

Does it beep once or 3 short, sharp beeps? If 3 beeps it means the car recognises and is letting you know that it's not locking properly - very common problem usually caused by a faulty locking mechanism on one of the doors.

ok its quick beeps hrmm if the sunroof isnt shut properly will it do it?

ok just checked its 5 quick beeps made sure everything was shut etc

yeah thats the car telling you it thinks a door aint shut or a door cant be locked. I HATE that feature, though i know its a great idea, it just annoys me coz its always at some really bad time that ive left a door slightly ajar or something like that ... 5 o clock in the morning loading up to head out ... and the VE horn is frickin loud and good (finally holden put a decent horn in...)

Sunroof won't do it (on VE anyway) as I often lock the car with sunroof open in the tilted position. Sounds like one of your door locks is cactus - you may be able to tell which if you sit in the car and lock/unlock - watch for one knob not going up/down as readily as the others.

Can someone confirm that this is the reason for the three sharp horn beats when i lock my car?

Last night i couldn't unlock my car for some reason so i manually turned the key setting the horn in crazy mode, once the key turned in the ignition it shut up and all was well. Now though, every time i go to lock my car it beeps three short sharp times and its very loud and annoying. Settings for when locking the car are set for just indicators, no horn.

What's the best way to find the problem?

Well a good tint guy will always take the door trims off but i cant say i had trouble when i had my car windows tinted about 2 years ago.

When I grew tired of it (people in shopping centre car parks would always stare and think "wanker" look at me! ha ha) so I went through the menu on first ignition and cancelled it. I can't remember exactly how to do it but I do remember it was pretty easy to figure it out.

Ok i went and had a look and it seems the rear passenger side door isnt locking or opening with the remote...so i assume this means its stuffed?

What are these worth at Holden parts?

Happens all the time with my ute after my missus doesn't close the door properly.
Beeps a few times and wakes the neighbours

If your worried about a price, go to the wreckers and see if you can get one out of a VZ
Its newer and bound to fit

Very interested too. My front passenger side has been goofing up, not opening, not closing etc etc.

Go outside/into you garage, unlock the car, open the passenger door then lock the car

The car should honk the horn a few times really fast

Its telling you "hey don't leave me man, I'm not clocked properly and someone could steel me"

I want to have a look at the actuator before trying to replace it, maybe spray some kind of spray on it just in case its jammed up.

Whats the best way to take the door trim off?
