I've got SSLs with Monroe short body shocks and even with just me in the car they occasionally scrape. Put two adults (even average to small) in the back and they scrape a fair bit. However, I do have 20x10 rims on the back with 275 tyres and the guards have been rolled to the max.
I'm guessing that with stock rims and tyres you'd definitely be OK with SSL and possibly even with SSSL.

Yeh I've finally worn my sorst flanges flat from scraping the road through small dips and stuff on the highways and back roads. Used to be a great spark show so they tell me lol.
I have Quadrant Bilstein but same issue as you. And thats with just me in the car.

How low ...It not just the scraping that can be an issue, It compromises tyre grip on corners and emergency braking as well on rough (ie bumpy) road surfaces.
Eg. If the vehicle ride height is that low, then suspension travel will be more limited in it's ability to follow large variations in the road. (Take a go cart on a rough track - some wheels will loose grip over these areas)
When on a corner that is rough road while pushing hard the limited travel would cause less grip for some tyres by skipping over the surface compared to a vechicle with further travel.
On the other hand *if* the road was smooth then the car with limited travel would handle better.
I would say there is a compromise on ride height vs tyre grip to road surface condition as well, so if you limit suspension travel you should compensate by choosing a softer tyre as well.
Cheers.

I'm running SL in the rear and SSL in the front with 275/30/20 in the rear and the guards are not rolled. On a really bad road i get light rubbing, but with passengers in the rear i get it often and usually when the car is wollowing at speed eg 100kph on the highway and the car takes a big dip. I am also running the Monroe shocks. It could be stiffer in the rear i think. My suspension guys has shown me how soft the rubbers in the rear are and says pedders are putting in nolathane bushing. I can't say if it stiffens the rear any though.
I had SSL in the rear first and we changed them out for the SL but i don't think it has done much to change the rubbing, when i took it in to him we couldn't see where it was rubbing either, it certainly isn't the guard lip as the tyre isn't showing any damage.
Next set of tyres i am going to try 265 on the rear and see if this helps as i think it is only just touching some where.
Stu.
