Very nice mate....add tint to the mods list i reckon :goodjob:

Normally I tint all my cars it's the first thing I normally do, but not sure this time.

I seen a mate's VR GTS recently in almost original form except for the polished sta supercharger, lowered springs and VX original 19 inch GTS wheels  without tint's and it looks tough, love the interior colour in those cars.

It stands out more when you see it.

Yeah White GTS hard to find, and White is the new Black :hide:

Thanks Sonny

Very nice ride, and you have good taste, cant wait to see the mods to follow. I know what you mean with leaving the tint, but I think dark tints always go well with white plus the bonus of staying in the shade ;-)

Personally I think the white Gts cars are the best choice. Looks sweet, and congrads on the ride...

John, what do you think of the manta catback and where did you source it from.

Hi Brad

It has a nice burble at idle, deep sound when you rev it, and nice deep sound under load, no drone good quality system.

It sounds better once carboned up.

It might sound louder at idle if you go headers and cats, depends on how loud you like you exhaust note to sound.

I struggle to get use to it compared to my old head and cammed vxss with full system :bawl:

But it is a GTS and I said no more hmmmmm

Got it from Best Mufflers see link below

http://www.bestmufflers.com/

All up just over $1k supplied and fitted in mild steel

John wht the change from mild to SS?

Hi Brad

Mainly because it's not my everyday drive car and I was that short trips and only starting and shutting down will cause moisture or condensation then rust.

My old vxss had a mild system but it was my daily driver.

Another reason because one was available lol

brock05

Any noticeable difference in note of the two systems?

For me not really but my mate which has heard both now thinks the stainless one sounds better.

Not sure if it is due to the tips, different tips on the stainless steel one compared to the mild one.

How does the price compare to aftermarket? Do they give a comparable intake volume/area to the aftermarket options?

Price aftermarket OTR's win hands down.

Well I wanted the factory look, as some have been defected with the use of the aftermarket ones which suck's and defeat's the purpose of buying one in the first place.

The bottom part of the intake was modified to allow more air in.

I think these intake's should have been fitted by HSV as standard on all the HSV model cars.

Alot more sound compared to my pod style intake previously.

Needed a retune to make it work, which I knew and will need a touch up because I fitted a set of pacemaker extractors and cats after the intake was fitted an tuned.

Stock my car only made 208rwkw's, LS2 Auto

Street Tuna's 12 package 229rwkw's with mail order tune, 2 1/2" cat back and pod style filter, might have got a few more rwkw's of it was tuned on the dyno instead of a mail order tune.

W427 OTR Modified Intake and retune 260rwkw's.

Hope to make a few more rwkw's with the pacemaker extractors and new cats.

All power runs made on the same dyno.

Hi Sonny

LS2 = 307

The shop that did the tune were suprised as well, they said the same thing everyone else says the LS2 has shit heads compared to the L98 and LS3.

They did a L98 ute Manual which has 2 1/2 inch cat back only xforce system, growler OTR intake, mafless tune it made 265rwkw's

Cheers

Could you post up some pics (close ups) on how the W427 CAI bolts on at the top of the radiator and also the deflecting bits of plastic that sit on the radiator and direct air into the CAI. If you don't want to post them up could you e-mail them to me at aledger@bigpond.net.au

AGR Tyres or Tempe Tyres can do them for $3,000 but with Kuhmo's or Lexani Tyres and more like 245/30/22 Front and 265/25/22 Rear, that's what they offered me.

I said I want 295/25/22 for the rear and different tyres he said Pirelli ok, I said shit yeah.

I did not even think to ask for 255/30/22 for the front hmmm like some are running, I am happy with what I got.

Hi Alex

I just did what everyone else has done, I used trailer wire $4 a metre at Bunnings.

Harrop do one as well $150 plus freight if you live interstate.

Mine is not a kit you can buy, I made it up.

Cheers

John

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. Do you have close-up pics of the placement/grouping/mount of the coils?

Thanks,

Alex

Hows the OTR going? Any issues with it? Have you tried to remove the filter there doesnt seem to be much room underneath to get it out.

Nice work mate! Yeah the 22's hold us back a bit, I think roughly 15hp at the wheels with these sorts of mods. still worth it imo, 20's look too small to me.

Nah no stallie mate if I did I would have put a bigger cam in.

I know someone who has a 6.2L VE GTS AUTO his cam size is 228/236 not sure on LSA and he is no running a stallie as well.

The OTR is still going, no issues with it but would be very hard to remove the filter to clean it might have to remove the front bar.

I know my mechanic hates it.

Hi Ben

Agree 20's look to small.

The car would spin the 22's with 295 rear Pirelli's before the 3.7's went in, then after the 3.7's it was even better and know with the cam and heads deck for more compression it's crazy.

I am more than happy with the setup that I have.

If I was not about to start building a house I would have gone heaps bigger.

Some new rims G8 22 inch on Pirelli's, coil relocation, heater hoses removed.

Tyres 245/30/22 Front Pirelli P Zero Nero and 295/25/22 Rears Pirelli Zero Russo wish they were all the same but for the price I got them for not complaining.

Not the best photo's and need to tidy up the wires to the coils.

Enjoy

Hi Brad

Sorry I did not get back to you yesterday.

I just checked mine.

Note: have not checked tyre pressures, fuel lever is just under half in next mark and just above the 1/4 to empty.

Just checked one side, I will redo hopefully soon with full fuel tank and tyre pressure's.

RF - Bottom of rim to guard is 665MM, Centre of rim to guard is 365mm

RR - Bottom of rim to gaurd is 660MM, Centre of rim to gaurd is 360mm

With regards to tyre pressure's what do you run???

I use to put 40psi all round, but now put 44psi up front and 42psi in the rear.

Cheers

John, car is currently in the shop getting the konis fitted, have decided not to put the SSSL springs in that WSP supplied as the predicted HTG measurements will be just to low. In hind sight maybe the SSL would have been perfect for me as Kings quote on there site approx 375mm front and 365mm rear. Makes a big difference with the 22's as the SSSl's with the standard 19's would have been excellent IMO.
Haven't settled on tyre pressures yet as only put the 22's on, over the weekend but am starting out with 38psi and see how that goes.

Cheers

Hi mate

I have already lowered it with genuine W427 Eibach Springs, which sits 1 inch lower than a GTS and 20 - 25% stiffer as well.

I have updated the GTS MRC settings so it now has the W427 settings done at Holden.

Alot less body roll.

I am selling the car if you know anyone interested.
