Just finished watching the 3 hr "highlights" telecast, which I thought was good value.
Don't know what it would have been like to watch as a spectator for 12 hrs, but the condensed telecast was pretty good. The cameras seemed to catch a fair amount of the "action", & I enjoyed it.
A couple of Holdens finished in the top 10, but were no match for the Evos.
Cheers, Pickles.

Great to watch, definitely much more entertaining than the V8 Supercars.

Interesting to see how all these cars performed in near street-trim, especially the supposed 'Kings' of the mountain. Best moment had to be the little 2.0-litre Honda Integra powering past the Falcon up the mountain.

Wish they would allow more expensive cars to compete though such as the M3, C 63 AMG, Nissan GT-R and even the W427.

Fantastic coverage as well, very smooth transition condensing the 12 hours down to just 3 hours which made it very easy to watch.

I agree with you...except your "referral" to V8 Supercars...If you don't like them, fair enough....but for me...I can't wait for the "action" to start....I'll be watching the Clipsal, but while I used to go to all the local racing...Calder, Sandown, Winton......even Hume Weir!!!!, the TV is good enough for me now...can't be bothered with the crowds, & simply, you see more on TV!
Cheers, Pickles.

I thought the coverage was quite good, and covered a good mix of the field. Some of the highlights were the good old vz ss giving the fg falcons a whooping and the clubsport coming in sixth. The ute tuned by OZTRACK was looking good till it went out early.

There were some big hits, one of the WRX's was worse for wear. Once again Ralliart showed its strength with its two cars dominating the field all day.

Overall thich CH 7 did a :goodjob:

It was a good afternoon of viewing! I enjoyed it more than V8 supercars. In fact, it was the first time Ive sat down for the afternoon and watched a race for a long time.

I like the production car races, should be more of it on TV. Sort of surprised to still see VY's and the VZ SS in the race. The SS did a pretty good race too.

Interesting to see the HSV Tourer Wagon in the race as well. The Ute was good too til they crashed it.

Gee, those Lancers can go!

If anyone in Melbourne recorded it to PC or DVR, I would be happy to swap a copy for a slab.
