Evening,

Go to the LS1 NATIONALS FORUM and have a look at what is a fantastic, and maybe FINAL opportunity to watch or compete against some of the countries finest LSX powered machines.:goodjob:

You do not have to own a world beating, fire breathing monster to compete and be part of what may be FINAL LS1 NATIONALS.

The whole competition is based on the DIAL YOUR OWN time concept, which basically means that a 13 second machine can actually defeat a 9 second car based on the time you submit.:smilesandbanana:

A great couple of days, and maybe the last!

Check out the FORUM, but the dates are 17th and 18th of April at the the very relaxed and friendly venue, HEATHCOTE PARK RACEWAY.

GET ON BOARD FOLKS, WILL BE FUN!!

Cheers,

Hogs,:)

Evening,

At the risk of being accused of "bumping" this thread, would the Mods consider making this a STICKY to assist with the generation of support for, as stated, may well be the last of the LS1 NATIONALS????

Thanks for the comments TUFFIE, much appreciated.:goodjob:

Yeah, it is, and should be all about putting names to faces from the FORUM, having plenty of fun, sprooking some shit and running some times is a bonus!!

PAGEY is correct in relation to my "Status" or more accurately, "lack of status" on the FORUM at present, and I guess I am a victim of my own "honesty"! :bawl:

That aside, look very forward to the NATS and catching up with a lot of the "DIE HARDS" who rock up every year and make the event what it is.:smilesandbanana:

No, we more than likely will not see PAGEY nor the folk who instigated my ban?

I havent been to every track in Aus, but most, and Heathcote with Russell pulling the strings is nothing if not fast at putting them down the track. You will get plenty Oz....and good thing you are racing, not talking, we need more racers that can actually race, and if history proves one thing, when it comes to actually racing, Oztrack can race  :)

Its beside the point whether Oztrack can or cant tune in the eyes of a handful of keyboard wankers, thats for a different thread for a different bunch of prima-donnas to argue. Boring :teach:

LS1 Drag Nationals is for those that drive their cars, not flap their keyboards of what 'coulda shoulda woulda'....that crap is old hat and one reason why this scene is dying a slow and painful forum death. Leave those tossers to the recreational motorsport of dyno days where they could possibly orchestrate a win for themselves if all the cards fall into place, and leave the real racing to those that 'do' rather than 'talk' at Heathcote

Oztrack, enjoy your racing - and I look forward to lining you up and hopefully beating you :)

Evening,

Good to see some "passion" developing in relation to the NATS!!:smilesandbanana:

I think it would be a genuine concern if the LS1 fraternity did not get a fair run on the Friday due to it being an open Test and Tune. Not sure what the set up is in relation to this but I hope this is taken into account!

I have supported the NATS every year apart from number one, where I was a spectator wondering wtf was going on.

Since then, I have observed and particpated in many fanstastic events, and am continually puzzled, frustrated, amazed and pissed off at the number of cynics that pop up and criticise what is a great couple of days.

MACCA33, PAGEY and any others that I may have taken to task over the years, front up, have a chat and line up beside the "FAMILY WAGON" and embrace the event for what it should be.

A chance to catch up, put names to faces and have some fun.:goodjob:

I really hope there isn't going to be any bitch fightin down there. I am hoping that we are all just as silly as each other in real life.

Rather than trying to scoop the pool and win the W427 that is offered as 1st prize (oops must be the drugs). I am hoping that this bunch of comrades might teach me a thing or two about 1/4 mile driving. Get to see these hairdryers in action and hear the screams of these blo-boys.

So many here criticise so many things, for every good there is a bad. At least at an event like this you can actually talk to the owners face to face and get their real opinions, then see the results.

Looking forward to it.....

PS What time do the dancin girls start on Friday night

Won't be lining my car up at all, as I don't feel the need to abuse my car, nor do I need to have some stories of heroism to pass on to the ever attentive crowd at the tuckshop. However, if others wish to, then it is their prerogative.

Dad and I will be there. Fresh slicks and front runners bought, big brakes being removed for the weekend and std ones put back in place- getting ready to try and keep up with the competition! Looking to turn 12.5@127mph into 10.XX@130+mph with the new rubber and feed in a little more boost... time will tell.

You don't have to abuse your car at all - just drive it like it's supposed to be driven - take it to your normal shift point & shift, how is that abuse? - only difference is you will be doing it safely, legally & off the streets & I guarantee you will have fun doing it too.

I have NEVER seen anyone have a few runs & not enjoyed themselves.

To be honest mate, I'm all for watching people race, but I'm simply not that into running my own car - especially this one and having the possibility of breaking something. SWMBO is already at the end of her tether with spending on this thing. I've been fast before, so can see no need to now. I'll certainly enjoy the event though.

I will be racing the best street car that HSV-105 can line up next to me.
Anyone like to start the odds. VE GenTT BB A6 1800kg plus. ET Drag Radials.

I also have a Blown LS7 to compare to as well. Happy to be beaten by this one though since our workshop multinational built its engine.

We also have a few NA cars that will be ready to race as well.

Plus a couple that will hopefully go mid to low10s.

All will be logged at the strip as well :) and tuned at the track to suit the conditions.

It will be fun to see the outcomes. I hope we can all hookup well enough to do their outputs justice. Im 100% in favour of seeing yours get the best result possible. Looking forward to it. Im not sure if Pauls car with your old blower on it is coming, it is going nicely as well. It has the same converter as mine now and 2.92s plus Higgins Heads.

Willems car i hope will be quicker than mine as long as mine does a 10 :) its the only chance it will get in 2009. It has a few psi of boost available against the brake at 3000rpm from there in less than 1.0s it will have over 10psi. I just hope thats enough for a 1.6 60 footer at around 1830kg then whatever 440rwkw will make in mph.

Dus won last year Statie with a 220 cam - so we didnt want to upset people who pedal gas guzzling farting cheap imposters of race cars - by bringing it down again. So this time its back with heads and a 232 234 LSK cam on 111.

In fact we have at least one 220 cam. If you keep being smart we will build an altered dragster 346 with a 220 220 112 cam and higgins ported L92 heads, Edelbrock L92 manifold and run it on methanol and use direct nitrous injection to the max. Fastest 220 cam in the world.

ps. We have new custom cam that i wont be sharing the specs of. Maybe HSV105 will want to install one in each of his cars and have me tune it on his dyno making sure i load up every load cell including the WOT ones for 10s at a time. Then never EVER log it at the track.

Dus won last year Statie with a 220 cam - this time its back with heads and a 232 234 LSK cam on 111.

Yeh the slower cars do have a bit of an advantage in DYO racing don't they:D - good to see you've has seen the light on the cam - the 232/234's are nice street cams.

Only one 220? I thought we would be swamped by them - I agree putting one in an altered is probably the only way of making it go fast.:yup:

Is there anyone taking bets at Heathcote.

Always up for a Challenge Steve.

The thing to remember is that my 2 cars are set up for circuit racing rather than a 400 metre straight line - I actually find it more challenging going around corners - but each to their own.

Given that yours is set up for the quarter mile your challenge is the equivalent of me challenging you to a race around Sandown - which is pointless.

Lets make it street car v's street car both of which will run on street tyres rather than you with your Drag radials.

Now that's a fair challenge.

Most cars competing are set up for street use with the only change a set of MT streets. With the handicap system you stand as much chance of beating OZ as anyone. I'm sure you'd have a nice set of race slicks you could bourne for the exercise Mark?

ET Streets are fine by me Boyley - I'll just be running Pirelli road tyres.

With all the talk about Dyno v Street Tuning and that Steve has thrown the challenge out there - we should be on street tyres and not drag specific tyres.I guess that ET Street radials fit the criteria and the spirit of the challenge.

You couldn't exactly tune a car on the street with Drag radials fitted now could you.

Anyway this should be a good one guys, doesnt matter what tires you are on as its not H2H racing. Get some consistency and go for the win..... easy

I've seen 16sec cars win DYO rounds with ease, couple of 11sec capable rigs trying to get street tires down the track would be a good one to watch. Come on guys get this one a go-er!!!!

ET STREET's are hardly a street tyre - both run RWD & genuine street tyres - no semi-comps etc & it should be a good race no matter how much power either of you have.

Hogs,

Put your tinfoil hat back on, the voices are making you paranoid again.
You specifically called someone out, they responded that they weren't interested and why, and you continued to question and push the issue, so you got the response you got.
Being a Moderator has nothing to do with it so I don't know why you even mention it. You threw a handful of stones at another USER, so a rock was thrown back. Stop pretending you are all innocent afterwards, enough of the "a Mod is targetting me" paranoia and just get back to the thread topic, which is a discussion with people who are actually racing at the Nats.

There was no lesson at Willowbank. You raced once before the scehduled start time and did a 10 and parked before anyone could see. I think there was a lesson there Mark.

My current car vs your current car would be lining up a luxury car built for daily driving and a race car. Mine will be trying to get to Melbourne on a tank 830km with all my family on board and then it will arrive at Heathcote and hope to see a 10s. If people have faster cars good on them, ive done lots of competition in my life so i dont car if people beat my car. Better though to beat it in something comparable. As a reward for anyone that beats my car i will issue them a free Oztrack Tuning sticker. I would like Mark HSV105 to line me up in an ex-Perkins race car and beat me. It wasn't a dig at the car HSV105, it was a brilliant looking car and im sure its well setup to be used on the circuit. Mine should go well considering its weight but it really is heaviliy biased toward being a nice daily driver, no hint of it being quick to any non car enthusiasts who ride in it ie. older family members etc. It just takes less throttle to get up to the flow of traffic.

My view on racing is you line up and do your best. If you succeed then the time the car does is like measuring your own weight on bathroom scales. You get what you get.

As for the Hecklers at every turn it is you guys that make the Forum fun for me - I enjoy seeing through the Bullshit - And sharing my experiences with the wider Forum community to ensure they don't get to caught up in the self promotion of the " Forum Propaganda Kings and their well trained Hecklers "

Cheers and keep on Heckling.

There was no lesson at Willowbank. You raced once before the scehduled start time and did a 10 and parked before anyone could see. I think there was a lesson there Mark.

.

Might be parking yourself into a corner there OZZ, mine was most certainly not the 1st car to run,nor were the pipes dropped , inside gutted or any form of race fuel added ...... and if you failed to take advantage of track atmospherics with the rapibly deteorating MB...then don't blame me

However I'm dead keen on hearing what inuendos you want to front for the difference between my 10.7 ( after which I was dutifully kicked off track ) ,and your best of 11.4...

But you know what absolutlely astounds me the most....those keyboard clowns who already know what car I'll be fronting...before I do

Mine will be racing with the 18" variety of the MT ET radials and ET110. But it will be idling at 600rpm! and it hopefully will have made it to Melbourne on a tank of gas with my entire family in the car, kids watching DVDs in the back.

I enjoy challenges and couldnt give a shit if anything beats it. It will do what it can do, but i think it can do a 10 and its the cars only chance this year.

I would be happy to bring them along if you would like to admire them, and unfortunately I have spent the prize money on the Family Wagon.

Your ride sounds pretty special, well done! But I cannot find any times on the data base or timeslips? WIll this be you first time mate? Happy to assist in any way!

G'day Hogs, your quite welcome mate....
I don't think I'll be running the Special GTS at the Nats this year, I'm happy with Dyno slips atm.
If however I do change my mind, you'll be the first person I look for to steer it as I'm far too tame for such a machine.......

I haven't previously ran it before, but I do feel rather special driving it down to Safeway to pick up bread and Milk on the W-ends.
The best slip I have is 301.7rw {with the bonnet open}.
Look forward to seeing you in Action mate.......

However, full credit to Brett for what must be a challenging drive, look forward to catching up, excuse the pun!

Given that I have gone to LSSR, and will be very much on the bottom of the food chain in this bracket, my only saving grace will be the advantage of the DYO set up.
