hey guys some of you prob already know the mods on my car, ive posted them up a few times, but i got 270.5rwkw and just recently got a mal woods automotive option 3 heavey duty clutch installed, due to my standard one slipping very baddly... as soon as i got the car out the shop was headin down the road and it slipped in second gear. it has been 1 week and has gotten a little better but ive had a few runs with people and it will be slippin bad when a drop it, it feels like a really bad shuttering and no acceleration then it will just kick in. even sometimes when i accelerate slowly it will happen. a mate seems to think it could be the diff but then again i smelt the clutch today burning. does the clutch need to be worn in?? has anyone had this problem before

A trip back to whoever installed it would be the first thing to do.

Sounds like it may be installed wrong.

take it back to where you had it installed. before you do some damage to it. doesnt sound like its a little problem.

Unfortunately there are too many places that get complacent in their work...

These clutches are known for not shuddering (I've been putting 330rwkw's through one for a couple of years now and have never experienced any shudder) so I would be taking it back to have it checked out.

Mine didn't require any special bedding in, and worked straight out of the box so your description suggests something definitely amiss.

You could have a leak glazing the clutch plate causing these symptoms

hey just got the car back, the mechanics told me there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with it it is all together properlly and seems to be in working order when he took it for a drive, as soon as i got down the road accelerating normally it shuttered in second gear again and next to no power.. usually when a clutch slipps doesnt the rev go through the roof, when it happens it just rolls at the same pace shuttering until it kicks in again. its like its limiting the power.... im really stumped here. i think i will take it to someone else to have a look!!

that was the other thing i thought it could be, the computer in my car was locked before i bought it when the last mechanic put the mafless tune on it, so the computer had to be sent away to be unlocked. anyway while away getting unlocked, somehow, they crashed the computer and had to get me a another one. they pulled the computer out of a auto vy. now he had to retune from scratch. i was thinkin maybe the new computer could be the problem.. it happens at unspecific times, whether im accelarating hard or slow, it usually happens in second and third though.

THINK I KNOW THE PROBLEM!!!!!! but......
a mate of mine had the same problem, and he had faulty oxygen senses, but also had a loose sparky lead.... when my car was in the shop he said i had faulty oxygen senses but he replaced them (according to the receipt print out). but problem is still there. now the problem is so similar to that of my friends. so does anyone know if oxy senses can do this kind of thing if their not working properlly????

If the revs aren't climbing disproportionately to the vehicle speed, it's not a slipping clutch.
Check all the usual engine issues. Plugs, coils, leads, fuel pressure, O2 sensors etc
Good luck ;)

maybe if you think it might be the o2s have a quick look under the car o2s may have been unplugged while the gear box was out and not plugged back in

Get some TopGun leads from any good auto store, or the oem ones if you like paying a lot of coin.

Cheers

hey yeh just bought and installed the topgun leads this mornng.... $100

yet to take the car for a drive though, will let you know how it goes...

cheers

this is gettn real frusturating:vpo:, just took the car for a spin, through first changed into second and it just bogged down, no power what so ever. its like the engine is trying to pick up but just cant, then as soon as a back off and put my foot down again it will pick up. its wierd it will only really happen when i change into a gear.
brand new o2 senses and brand new leads. i guess next step would be to do the plugs. i never had this problem before it went into the shop for the cam and it comes out with it. im hoping its the plugs and they just arnt keeping up with the new power
