My guess is wait till you get the exhaust aswell then slap the OTR on and get them tuned together.

+1. No point getting it tuned now and then tuned again once u get your exhaust

You may as well put on the OTR now (with a high flow air filter), but don't get it tuned until you get the rest of the mods you have planned done. As soon as you modify your car after getting it tuned, it won't be tuned right any more.

I'd recommend getting your throttle body ported, and adjusted so that the butterfly opens fully, exhaust, OTR and a MAFFless tune, they all work beautifully together (talking from personal experience)

So.... at WOT (stock) it doesn't open fully ??

That is correct! Stock, it also has hot radiator fluid running through the hollows, just in case you drive into the arctic circle or something like that.

No they don't, any of the ported and polished stock t/b's that are
for sale will have the wot stop shaved to allow the butterfly
to open 100 percent :)

Best thing to do with the ss reduction is throw it in the bin

Cheers for that Black 346. I was starting to wonder how anyone could think that the coolant bypass mod could possibly affect whether or not you are actually getting true WOT ROTFLOL!

Guys not only do you need to file down the alloy body of the TB that acts as a throttle stop in the LS1 but you also then need to make sure that when your accelerator pedal is all the way to the carpet it is actually giving you WOT (get a friend to press it to the floor and take the intake pipe off and have a look) as many cars are a little out in this and you will need to check your accelerator cables are adjusted up correctly and if its still not getting WOT youll need to bend the accelerator pedal a little towards the drivers seat (increasing the travel)

Can't you just tighten up the cable slack?

Tightening it up worked on my car, when Oztrack tuned my car we found I will only getting 80% when I had it flattened, we adjusted the cable and now I'm getting 100%..

Yeh that was what I was trying to say when I mentioned the cable adjuster, I just couldnt think of the right terminology LOL!

I found that full throttle was still not being achieved though and had to modify the angle of the accelerator pedal a tiny bit which fixed it right up. cheers

YEE HAA.... did a little "adjustment" to the TB WOT stop.
Butterfly is very "horizontal" now. :D

I think he's talking about the OTR one which has shown some reasonable results, unlike the other POS they have released.

Anyway this threads entertaining so let it run its natural course please:popcorn::up2sum::popcorn:

Be carfull grinding back your throttle stop , as the TPS will go past 100% and the pcm will return back to closed loop

Just out of curiosity (throttle body not opening to 100% on WOT) - Is this the case with fly by wire too, or is that controlled electronically....

I am interested in re-directing the radiator hose from the TB too - anyone experienced any issue with doing this on a VZ SS (with Flyby wire)?
