dont laugh....but in Joondalup there is a place i and a few forum members use and u get top quality service!

will have to check the name but its the workshop directly behind the caltex in Joondalup across the road from the shops.
between the Caltex servo and Bob Jane.

See the "young" bloke Nick and he will look after your car.
when they do a log book service they not only look after your car but actually do one...
its rare to see a mechanic these days checking ur brake lights, indicators, etc etc etc as part of a service and they do it.
not just tick it off and charge u fark load for a filter and oil!
will use whatever oil u want as long as u tell them when u book it in etc

its a family owned business with his dad and great guys!
i drive all the way from rockingham nearly all the way to joondalup for a service :D

I've heard good things about Clarkson Holden. Stay away from Phoenix Holden, they're absolutly useless theiving pricks.

nick being a car guy is great too...he has had everything from ricers to a VE and just loves working on a good car!

i had my car serviced with Penrite oil, front discs skimmed, handbrake adjusted and whole host of stuff while i waited for i think not much more than $300ish...
comparing a dealer chargers round $350 for a service alone let alone the damaged they do to your car Nick is a bargain!!!

North city cost me almost 2k! Booked it in for a major service(quoted $1100), was acknowledged by the guy that i wanted a major service next week on the phone and when i rocked up they had no booking for me. Then i got a call about 2 hours later saying they wanted extra to carbon clean, throttle body clean and injector clean (injector clean is a bottle of wynns injector clean apparently worth $79) for my GTS. I'm pretty sure that's included in a "MAJOR" service, the bloke being smart asked how i knew that, i told him i used to work there in 2002 (i did a months work experience there) They accepted that, then came up with some other bits and pieces for me to pay for. Like the "steam clean" they never did. :@ F^#$ing load of &@#&$%!#^!

Looks like im going to joondalup in 5000kms :) Be such a relief to trust a mechanic :goodjob:

P.S- Sorry to turn this into a B$#@hing post but i don't want some other Hsv/Holden owner getting the same mistreatment.

Avoid City Motors like the plague, incompetent rude mongrels.

North City arent much better ... its a deadset mission to get any form of decent service out of them, the service managers look terrified of their own jobs, and the techs seem to have no real mechanical skills.

Avoid dealerships like the plague. With that being said, Metro Motors in morley did treat me well after a huge spat with City Motors (over a brand nwe car, 3hrs old, with a massive loud grinding noise from the engine they refused to do anything about despite fights with them it was deemed a "normal" sound for engine, and that it was just a loose gudgeon pin (HELLO???) and they wouldnt fix it. Day 1, brand new, had barely driven a few suburbs.)

But then others have whinged about metro motors too ... when i went there I explained straight away who and what id been through, and requested I only be looked after by the foreman and liaise directly with him, and told the service guys from day 1 that im a nightmare customer if crossed ... so they looked after me.

For non warranty, i use a place called Classic Mechanical repairs, owned and run by Tony and his wife ... great people, no bullshit, genuinely interested in good workmanship and advice.

I'd love to, but he rarely works 1 day a week. So you'd be wasting your time.
