If ur cars pushing power do yourself a favour and get a built box, the standard box will just break again. I know the 4L65E (i believe thats what replaced the 4L60E in the VZ) is a stonger but i doubt it will hold up. Its around $2300 for a stage 2 RVO box.

1000 - 1200 is dirt cheap mate, must just be a stock rebuild but still sounds too cheap.
I had my box rebuild a few mths ago and it was 3.2k for a strengthened box, bigger belts clutches etc etc
If i was in your shoes i wouldnt be putting the stock box back in, mite aswell build a good box while you have it out or it will just happen again

Really depends on what your getting fixed replaced. Could also have your tune looked at as this could also be behind the problem. I am in same predicament due to a crappy tuner however i have option of either re-build from Craigs on 4L60E, buy brand new 4L65E then have Craigs do some work or go with the MM6 Manual.
So really i would love some feedback on this.
But it really is up to you, depending on how much you have "enjoyed" your old box then it might be worth getting new box. But if you do it properly have the new box built to suit your power and driving style.

i thought it may have been the comp but it was done by oztrack tuning by steve, he seems to know a fair bit and i also got his number from here. he recheckd my settings on the comp and says they are all fine. not 100% what power its making not that much mods done only really pacemakers with custom twin 2 1/2 pipes with the mafless tune. so yeah i didnt honestly think that it was gonna kill the box but then again who knows perhaps its just a freak thing. ive only really heard good things on the 65 boxes and judging what i have read on forums that the 60 have its share of problems. so might put the 65 in there and hope it lasts and just rebuild the 60 and strenghn it up in the mean time or do you rekon im wasting my time.
