Hey guys and gals,

I was looking at making a rather significant purchase from KPM but I've run into a few things that struck me as odd (and being half way around the world threw up some red flags).

I've been told VIA email that KPM Only takes BANK TRANSFERS!? Yet I go on thier website and it clearly says Visa/MC/Amex?! Now in the age of tons of internet scams this has us a little leery :\

I'm looking for first hand feedback on transactions with KPM, I emailed them about the CC use since it says they take it but on the odd chance I have to wire transfer quite alot of money I want to know they can be trusted and will stand behind the shipment and product since there will be no safety net as with a CC.

I'm assuming all the best since they are a sponsor and this is in no way meant to challenge thier integrity, just to make sure I'm going to be safe about this!

Thanks!

Mate I live 2000km away from KPM and hate the idea of sending money to receive goods in the post weeks later but based on the feedback of others from this site and most of them appearing to be reputable blokes themselves(most)... KPM would be one of the few that I would use this method of payment with.

Wonky should be posting here shortly...

They definately wouldn't survive on this website if they didnt supply a great product and great service.

FWIW it's common for vendors to refuse CC payments where international customers are concerned. For example, Tirerack.com and sdparts.com (US based) will ask Aussie customers for a wire transfer too, even though they normally take CC payments. Dunno why, maybe the increased instance of fraud with these types of transactions, or FX rate/exchange fees or something. You are defintely not alone in this, try living in the arse end of the world and buying stuff from US of A. Wish i was there!

I have purchased stuff through KPM, paid by credit card no problems at all.

Yep! :D I have found them absolutely first class to deal with and very interested in good customer relations. When my first VE 3" catback (with HSV headers/cats from elsewhere) was too droney they sold me a new design full KPM 3" system including Pacies for an exceptional price. It sounded so awesome that I wanted to keep the KPM catback part for my new SSV when I sold that car but the guy who bought it paid me a significant amount more to keep it because he loved the sound so much.

I had absolutely no hesitation in ordering a new one for the ute!!

As LSX-438 says, it's because you are overseas. I've bought a lot of stuff direct from the US and similarly have often had to get a friend over there to buy it on his credit card and ship it over because many US companies won't accept Aussie credit cards, then I use Paypal to pay him back.

Go ahead with absolute 100% confidence!!:yup:

I have organised a group buy through KPM on another forum and paid close to $7K via credit card and had no issues. They have always been great to deal with but why not give them a call and ask them what payment terms they accept.

Thank you so much guys! They have been great VIA email but again I'm a little far away to head over and "check them out" personally :) Looks I'll be sending them some money! Thanks so much for the feedback and I'm sure they appreciate it as well :D

The issue is around chargebacks, and with the goods out of the country it makes it very difficult to sort out any issues.
