As one of the posts on the thread says, all they need to do to keep the G8 in the US is stick Chev badges on it!

What a pathetic piece of "journalism."
Here's a headline:

"GM MAY CONGLOMERATE ALL BRANDS AS "ANUS MOTORS" AS PART OF RESTRUCTURING"

Because theoretically they could, just as they could ditch pontiac. Just because it's a possibility doesn't mean there's an iota of truth to it.

More doom and gloom propaganda.

It may have worked and this probably would be an option - if only the govt wasn't being so aggressive in its demands for cuts.

Confirmed Holden exports cut:

GM boss Fritz Henderson confirmed exports would finish before the end of the year.

"Our decision on Pontiac will result in the phase-out of G8 from our Australian operation. The car is actually in many ways a very fine car but we are not able to put the marketing resources behind it," he said.

"We would work with dealers to sell down inventory and phase out production and we would expect that by the end of the year."
