I've recently fitted front parking sensors to my Calais which only comes with rear parking sensors. They're connected and everything, only they won't display on the screen.

I've called Holden to no avail, they gave me a run around, called me for 3 weeks and only told me that they "don't support any modifications, and can't help me any further", so more or less they're hopeless.

Does anybody have any idea what I have to do to get them active? Is it a software update? Is it a different head unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if they are aftermarket than you will not be able to get them to work on the screen. I had the same problem as you only factory units like on the calais v can we activated on the screen.

If you have the Holden front ones from Calais V they can be activated onto the screen. There are people on here who have done it. Start in the Audio section and maybe post there, Adrian (No limit electronics) will be able to help as he has a guy who has modified much of the software on various bits, including fitting SSV head units into SS with software upgrades etc.

Else do a search it was from late last year last time I read something about it.

front sensors are a great idea for ppl with lowered cars to see if we'll clear the drive way or curb ??

Do your rear sensors show on the screen like they do on a Calais V or only beep?

On a serious note I find that with the taper of the VE bonnet its abit harder to judge how far the front bumper is away from things than in other cars..

thats what i find anyway :D

shouldn't NEED them, shouldnt NEED reversing sensors either.
but they do come in handy once in a while, catching things that are below the visual line... suprise towballs and such.

They are genuine front parking sensors and they're all hooked up, just won't display on the screen and Holden won't tell me what I have to do!

I'll let you in on a secret, so don't tell anyone ok.
They wont tell you because if you f#ck it up and blow up something, most owners will expect Holden to fix it for free!
Or call Slater and Gordon. :)

My warranty is void due to my stereo anyway, so I wouldn't be expecting that.

Yet, they still won't help!

With so many "experts" on this forum that know everything dealers don't, one would think they'd surely have had an answer for you by now...

Why bother !

You don't need them, it will make a crunch noise when you are too close to something.
