I was just wondering if you can fit 10 inch wide wheels under the back of a VX Clubsport???

It can be done yes, search BADNWZ he is running 20''x10''s on the rear of his clubby. Basically u will need a rim with specific offset and your guards will need to be heavily rolled and pumped. Go for it i say fat rims give a good effect.

As above. Much over a +40 to +45 offset at 10inches will get very close to the in side guard/chassie side. Bad and you are talking tubs there.
Easier to pump the guards but there is a limit on these too as the tyre can fit in the top with a guard pump but stick out the edges pretty bad. You can get full on guard pumps including door edges bent, custom fibro work on the back bumbers etc but lots of work and cost.
Generally 3 piece wheels will be needed. Some BMW aftermarket wheels in 9.5 inch are very close to fitting with a guard roll as the offset is perfect. Down side is very limited wheel choice.
This is what i am talking about fitting in at the top (kind off) but not the sides. this is guard pumped as far as it can go without doing the doors etc. these are 280mm actual width tyre on a 9 inch rim at +20 offset. Yes I have spare room on the inside of the guard if I could of found some wheels with a higher + offset but could not in 9 inches wide cheap and without going 3 piece.

This is my next challenge. Getting these to fit. 19x10 with big tyres (295) and somehow getting the 19x9 with 265s on the front.

Very nice but 265 is too wide for the front as you will put immense strain on wheel bearings and steering / suspension components and will probably end up fouling on the guards.
I fitted 19x8.5 - 245 35 fronts and 20x9.5 - 255 30 rears on my VY.:)
If I drive up something on full lock the fronts touch a little and if I nail it, corner hard or run over a bump at speed or have people in the back the outside on the rear scrub really bad against the guard lip but only about 5mm of the lip is touching so when I finally find someone to roll the rears I hope to fit 275 30 or 20's and that will be that!:)
Its just a pity that I wont be able to lower it now:bawl:

Front guard pump will be happening and the plastic stuff is already gone from my car. I have been running 265 semislicks on the front for ages for race meets and nothing scrubs. Yes I replace things regularly like steering racks, bushings, bearing etc etc and this is with -4 degrees camber dialed in.
Street use with the 265s I will be getting, the offset is prefect to the mm to fit without scrubbing. That is with 265 tyres too. A small front guard pump of about 10mm will make sure they fit under

Good to see there is other cars with about a mm room and it works. Here here.
