i have ve ss manual, when im driving say sitting in 4th and revs are about 1800-2k and then i put my foot down i have this little noise that may sound like lifter noise not sure, its like a tiny knocking noise some days worse then
others but now ive noticed it i always do so shits me.
just wondering if anything to be worried about, engine only done 10k, i didnt notice it before i have my first service and holden said the price gone up because they are using a different oil now but wouldnt know if
thats the cause...

ive had lots of bad experiences with ticking noises like the one you are saying in my old LS1 Engine and it the engine went downhill after a holden service god knows what oil the chucked in but wiould never let holden service my car unless under warranty again.
Firstly the noise i heard a slight ticking noise in the valvetrain got worse over time and gave me the shits and all holden did was say if it gets louder the ticking noise bring the car back and by the time i did the damage was done....broken springs, rockers gone pear shape id say may be worth getting the valve train components inspected for piece of mind. It mite not be much in the end but better safe than sorry.

It's probably pinging. Do you use premium fuel ? If not you should.

I bet its the belt tensioner. A lot do it at lower revs but under high load.

Hi
I'm just checking whether this happens in the auto as well. Have just noticed this yesterday, when in the lower gears 5th and driving at lower speeds that when i accelerate i get the same sort of sound. To me it reminds me of when a manual car takes off in second and doesn't have the take off. Its like a chain noise ticking, (bad explanation I know).
Is there a fix for this, seem to be coming from the front of the car
