G,day Fellas.

Today when i went to get into my car the bloody thing would not unlock with the button, just absolutely no response, but when i unlock it with the actual key the button works fine ie locks unlocks perfect but if i lock it and leave it for no more than 1 minute the same thing happens.

Anybody with a VE experience this same thing.

My ride is a 2006 VE Calais 6 ltr Automatic

Thanks

Andrew

Sounds like it could be another dodgy BCM
How's your other key?

I had the same problem with my VY the other day
Out of the blue wouldn't unlock and had only been locked for a few minutes.
Set the alarm off when i opened it with the key.

Never had the problem before, no sign of buggered key battery.
Struck me as strange and hasn't happened since

Thats bullshit when you or me could pull it out and replace in an hour.
Must me the time to program the new one to your old one

sounds like it could be the same thing then. It just happened out of the blue i drove it 2 hours before then and all worked ok then bang no go.

Is it me or do the VEs have a lot of electrical gremlins mine has well and truly made new car warranty worth the while.

yep i find after driving mine it will lock and unlock for the next 5-10minutes then after that its just a no go. its a complete pain in the asshole owning a ve hence im trying to upgrade to a vz r8. i think ve's just have to much technology for their own good. i know 1 of wheels on the front the camber is out and once you start rolling it turns the esp off

Agreed the technology is great in some ways but it sure can cause some problems, and unfortunately with a few after market mods the dealerships tend to try and blame everything but the cars.

Was just about to come ask about the very same problem... thing is i just had a service and was told the latest field campaign was done on it during, which was a BCM upgrade! It didnt occur straight after though, maybe a week or so after.

Ill be ringing the dealer when i get a chance, and take it in for them to look at - anyone else already had it rectified/looked at?

My warranty expires soon, so i want it fixed before then - im finding it a pain in the bum!

wouldnt be supprised they took our ute for a 50km "road test" a few months back. Toyota seem to be the best in mackay they only take the work car for a short drive :)

Gonna get it booked in then!

I was worried about mine being driven, but seeing the other HSVs they were working on i didnt think mine would be like a big deal for them.

Mine was also fixed on friday, same thing software issues they said the keys needed to be reprogrammed all under warranty though,

i dont have a problem with my dealer and long test drives, i was waiting for the service to end and the workshop informed me it was being road tested and would be back soon, so i thought i would wait outside to get a glimpse of how they were driving it, but to my surprise 30 minutes later it came out from the workshop, it did not even leave the building, they were full of crap all along probably hadnt even been serviced. $350 bucks later and its back in for warranty jobs
