My 2002 VX occaisionally throws the engine light on. Smart young guy who works here says you can diagnose it yourself by bridging something under the dash where Holden would plug in their computer?

So I told him to do so and it flashes 10 times - pauses -1 flash - pauses - 2 flashes - pauses then 1 flash.

What does all this mean. Help greatly appreciated. I can't afford to go to a dealer.

Its a 6 cylinder auto by the way.

Nobody knows what the trouble codes are??????

Can someone direct me to a website that lists them??

No one?????

Looks like ya might need to get it scanned mate

Read me (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=853902&postcount=8)

Not all dealers charge to scan. Might be a good idea to just ring around and ask :)

My dealer cleared a code caused by a faulty piece of third party equipment (I told them how it happened) - no charge. :)

the early model commodores you could do that on, but not the later models.

you need a tech 2 or obd2 scanner to get the correct code.

PS update

looking it seems you can on V6's Vt VX

most here are v8's so we don't work on V6's much, well i don't.

I appreciate the replies. I'll look into getting a throttle position sensor.

Don't want to be bleeding here but between jobs right now. I don't want to be spending money I don't have if you get my meaning.

Thanks.
