You need to remove the airbag, then it's just some screws and a plug to replace the stereo controls as one assembly (for both sides).
Check out this thread. If you do it yourself, take absolutely 100% notice of post 2. If you don't you will trigger an airbag light!

look on ebay for replacement i think you have to buy the whole set which includes internals/looms i could be wrong! Airbag needs to come off (disconnect battery or remove airbag fuse for 30mins to be on safe side) then a smallish flat head screwdriver from behind to release the 4 clips holding the airbag on, disconnect the wires from airbag, once off there are 2 screw holding each side in, if u can replace the button will be easier otherwise youll have to snake the loom out around the plastic back and spokes.

Not wanting to start a new thread, but my "next" button on the wheel has dislodged itself... Still changes the station etc, but doesn't sit nice and flush like the others.
Is the part broken, or is it just a matter of taking the airbag cover etc off??.. To make it back to good!
Thanks Joe

Do the steering wheel audio controls on the earlier models (high spec VT/X and WH) also require the airbag to be removed in order to replace the controls?

Yes. The airbag covers the mounting screws on any of them.

I am going to have to order a new one as well. My volume up button has come loose. This thread was made in perfect time for my problem.

Just for peoples information the only models you can buy buttons only for are models up to VX2/WH (about $55). VY/WK on they are full controls for both sides (roughly $110-140 model dependent).

You should have heaps of spare cash for 'both' sides as you don't go to the gym anymore :stick:

Thanks for this post, saved me both time and money, was able to replace with a six button loom from a wreckers, job done in 20 minutes or so cost $50. Cheers
