Check engine Alarm

Hi,
Have just purchased a VYII clubsport, however the other day when i turned the car off after driving home the Check engine alarm was displayed on the dash, along with ABS and "trac" Active alarm. The alarm doesnt come up while driving, only when i turn the engine off. Can anyone help diagnose what might be causing this?

If the light's come on after the engine is off, but the key is on, it's fine. if the lights come on with key on accessories... that's something different. where's the key at?

The alarms come on when i turn the key all the way off. not sure if it does it when on accessories
