Sounds good mate....maybe 235 to 245rwkw's...depends on stock run and how cold it is.

I have seen VE's range from 195 rwkw's to 220 rwkw's stock.....zorst from 12 to 20 rwkws and air intake 10 to 15 rwkw....with tune/ intake up to 25 rwkw.

Either way mate the increase will change the car for the better......much better :goodjob:

The rwkw you will obtain will depend on what fuel the dealer puts in.

When I ordered my VE M6 I specifically asked for 98 octane as I was getting it modified as new.(driven direct from dealership to tuner).
When the car pulled 195rwkw my tuner tested the fuel and you guessed it,
91 Octane.

Congrats Tristan but why are you worried about an air intake that uses AFM given manuals don't come with AFM? :weirdo: Stock L98 VE M6s typically make from high 210s to mid 230s on Chev's (not optimistic) dyno but of course even though they shouldn't different dynos read differently.

Catback should probably add 10 - 15 rwkw depending on size and quality, I have NFI on your airbox till you explain more about it and that will affect tune results. I just sold a set of brand new SSV rims from my recently delivered SSV ute with new Michellin tyres on them and if you'd bought them you would have come out a lot cheaper than $1,000 after you'd sold your brand new SS rims and tyres. :(

I think afm is air flow meter in this instance Wonks, so the MAF.

Tristan, it would be a very good idea for you to take a GOOD read through the posts in the technical sections, especially those which relate to the VEs. You will get some clear information and you will not waste any money on things that do not work.

cheers

Wonks, he's referred to the MAF as the AFM (air flow meter) as opposed to Active Fuel Management :)

Edit: Ah Macca... you beat me to it!!

Hi

To eskimo87: when you use the letters AFM, do you mean air flow meter or active fuel management?

Please confirm.

Which brand of exhaust did you choose?

Richard

shit 22"s i'd stick with the 19"s. with 22"s you would loose a bit of power. if your looking to get the most power out of the car, i wouldnt go any bigger than 19"s, unless your willing to change the diff gears.

Just go 20"s.
22"s only look good when its been lowered LOW, and the only way is with coilovers, so theres no bump stop banging and no or minimal rubbing on guards. Guards probably have to get rolled too. Ride quality would be crap. Save your $1000 til you can get the wheels you want. Dont do what I did and upgrade to 19in SSV and then want to upgrade again. If only I had my time again.
Just my opinion.

I must admit that occasionally I look at my 20s and think they don't look all that big but even ignoring the cost of 22" tyres and limited choice I'd probably never go 22s, mainly because on VE they are technically illegal. You may never have a problem with police on it (but of course you may :D) but my concern is insurance if you happen to have a big accident while they're on.

Seems like that may not be the case any more - may now be that you can only increase the rolling diameter by 15mm over the largest size on the tyre placard. See Australian LS1 and Holden Forums (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=108439)
