I want to get a set of the VE HSV breaks and put them on my VX R8, I am guessing that it can be done but I just want conformation and maybe if anyone knows the price for the set.

I want to go the VE HSV breaks rather then the likes of Alcon or Brembo and the such cos I want to have the HSV calipers and the would look very sexy, expessialy behind a set of 20 x 8.5 front and 20 x 10 rear full gloss black rims.

im not sure if it can actually be done, someone will confirm, if so tho your looking at like $7500 for a set, prob more, as its like $5000 for a service on them i was reading somewhere on here, and also i think theres only a limited number of wheels they sit behind cause there so big, tho they would look pretty damn awesome.

Forum sponsor Wheel King do the HSV AP Racing 4pot brake kit for $3880 :goodjob: but i think they only have the black caliper edition
They are awesome brakes!! You'll love them!!
You'll have to check your wheel offset to make sure they fit

Forget about trying to adapt VE brakes to any pre-VE model.
They have totally different suspension designs, with massively reduced offset on the rotors as just one of several issues. They will NOT clear your rims by a mile.
The only reason I can see you even thinking about this over the VZ HSV brakes is the extra 15mm front rotor increase and 18mm rear rotor diameter increase, but there's too much work for the extra little bit of w@nk factor.
Get 362mm/343mm 6/4 piston VY/VZ HSV AP's if size is your priority. They will bolt straight up, and are almost the same rotor size as VE.

dont know why you would discount Alcon or Brembo, they are both = to AP, (brembo owns AP) is it the LOGO you want or the Performance?
HSV is only 4 POT , Premium BRAKES are abundant for your Car,
but as said Wheelking sell them, as does JCP they run the Harrop Kit for 3950,NVU have them for 3550.00 (genuine HSV)
FYI,

you can also get Willwood Kits which i have seen are awesome,

anyway good luck, any upgrade will be better than standard.

cheers paul

Thanks for the info guys. I have talked to the guys from Holmart Holden and they will have a set of VY GTS brakes soon, so I will go for them. I want the logo aswell as the size. And by the sounds of it, the VY GTS brakes are pretty good.
