weird sound comming from the left side of my ss.

hey guys just looking for some feedback from anyone as im a bit paniced at the moment... on friday i had a set of pedders coilover XA's and front and rear bushes and a strut brace fitted up to the ssv... on the way home i noticed a issue with the brake pedal sinking half way down to apply the brakes.... since having the VE HSV brakes fitted ive become accustomed to the stopped power of these as they only need less then a quater push to start pulling up.. the weird thing is that wen the car is at a full stop the brake pedal feels normal but soon as u are driving u need to apply more then half way.... anyway sonny check this out and has booked me in on tuesday to have the pads replaced and discs shimmed.

my new issue is now i have a weird metal on metal sound and it sounds nothing like a a low pad indicator noise.. its only accuring on a full to half revolution of the tyre... kinda like a wet thong on tiles.. kinda noise... very squishy if that makes sence lol

and help would be great as im unable to get thru to sonny at the moment and its his only day off the poor bloke :)

The noise sounds like the description of a hand brake scraping. Fairly common.

i found the link ed... but its comming from the front left... unless ive lost it lol

i hope its fixed that easy cos its making my car sound like a piece of shit :(

couldnt be a bent disc shroud ? rubbing on the disc ??

its a posibility.. but its ony occuring with a full to half rotation of the tyre... if it was the shroud would it not be in constant contact with the disc.... very weird... guess il know definatly once i check in with sonny .

take it back to pedders and make them fix it....


first of all take that strut brace off and get a refund...,
biggest waste of money on a VE!
they saw u coming and sold u everything they can think of...

i find it hard to believe a close friend of mine would rip me off... but hey you neva know... and with the price i got all the stuff for... why would i complain mr rudd funded 70% of it :)... how am i ment to take it back wen i dont even know the issue first...

it's possible there is a rock wedged and is on making contact at certain turn angles. could be anything really get under the car and have a look :) take some photos and post them up

and if ur mate has done his home work on the VE a strut brace isnt needed
the perfect corner to corner balance of the car means its not required like the previous models.
but hey if ur happy so be it...just trying to help ya

Definitely worth going back. If it happened after them fitting it I would hardly even worry about asking here - back it goes.
