ok i have a question and cant find it with the search function.
i have got a otr intake on my commodore and when the original airbox was in the coolant overflow hose was neatly tucked away and looked nice and neat. now with the otr the hose sort of just sits in the place where the box originally was. now my question is, is it ok for this hose to be just opened to atmosphere when i go to the drags tomorrow night? or do i have to feed the end of the hose somewhere like into a bottle or something? if so, what can i use and do i secure it to the car?
cheers in advance,
alex

needs to go into a bottle, no fluids can be openly allowed to drip onto the track, a coke bottle will work fine, and just zip tie it somewhere

coke cans or jim beam cans look awesome, cheap and practicle
Just zip tie around the top if the can to stop it from crushing or you can zip tie a beer cooler to a rail somewhere and just slide the can in

not having a go at you ricecooker, but that just boggles my mind. After reading the LS1 nats result thread re how tight they are on regs at WSID cause its an ANDRA track, compared to heathcote, at heathcote that was the first thing they looked for.

ok cheers guys, ill just zip tie a coke bottle down somewhere. and sometimes the wsid scrutineering isnt all that tight. first time i went the lifted the bonnet, looked for 5 seconds and dropped it and sent me on my way. that was back with the standard everything though, before any mods what so ever.

Yep ... and never have to the best of my knowledge.
I've attended about 5 private track hires at WSID since 2004 and my overflow hose is and always has been tucked into the space between the inner guard and plastic inner guard through a hole in the inner guard.
Close scrutiny by the WSID track marshalls ensures no car leaves the beams if it's losing fluids.

A powerade bottle now calls my engine bay home. the ribs on the bottles design lends itself really well to zip ties. you guys reckon this is ok? its not going anywhere.
