VY Binnacle gauges

Hey guys, My binnacle gauges in my VY always seem a little dull compared to the dash lights.
Is there anyway to bring up the brightness and have it looking exactly like the white HSV dash does once illuminated?
I was thinking of putting in those LED lights designed to go there, but am worried they may be too bright.

They are always a little dull and the reason why they were made that way was so it wont drown out/distract your view through the windscreen. Any bright light close to your vision outside reduces your visibility at night. Are your dash lights turned up (small lever at the headlight switch)? Because when that's turned down you can't se shiT.

Throwing in another LED is not quite as easy as you'd think for any of the dash lighting. They're soldered surface mounted LED's and the way they project light onto the back of the guages via small reflective surfaces are quite sensitive to changes. However from memory the binnacle guages maybe small globes with a plastic coloured (blue!) cover on them so you may get lucky. If you pull the covers off the globes it will probably be way too bright and will be a standard "yellow" coloured white which will clash with the rest of the other "white" colours. You can see from the picture below what I'm talking about
