Does any body know what it costs to get the extended factory warranty?
You have an option of extending the factory warranty by One,Two or Three Years.

I downloaded the information from the Holden webiste. Has different options but no price. Called the dealer and waiting for a call back. Looks ok. Covers all the main parts which is good.

The dealer I got my previous 4 Commodores from threw in their own 6 year warranty free with each car as long as I got them serviced there. Bought the ute from a different dealer and no mention of any extended warranty, not that that concerned me.

Hey Wonky will the extended warranty cover your engine/driveline with the mods you have done? I aam a little hesitant with doing any mods to my ute as to fearful that holden wont honour the warranty.

As long as the mod's are within reason, Holden will allow it. They don't care if you put exhausts, cold air and the likes on the car, just as long as it is serviced by a Holden Dealer or Holden Recommended Dealer.
Best bet is, choose the mods you want, call up Holden and ask if you do the mod that you are looking at, will it void your warranty, if they say no... Get it in writing and sent to you.
Good luck :)

Thing is I have already asked them about a cat back and intake and the response was if you have a failure and it can be related to A/M Mods NO WARRANTY! So I asked for clarification and got basically:
If I fit zorst and intake tune and any driveline component fails for whatever reason FORGET warranty as it will be blamed on the aftermarket products increasing hp outside holden specs.

Depends on your dealer. Some play hard and fast with the rules but if they do you could challenge them as surely Holden don't build their cars with components that don't have a reasonable engineering tolerance built in? Some dealers are much more reasonable eg. I've heard of guys with cammed cars getting clutches changed under warranty!

Thanks Wonky as I want to do the mod thing its like a drug, once a modder ALWAYS a modder but I didnt just outlay premo bucks for a new ute thats not covered. Also if I did take it back for a warranty claim and got knocked back for a b/s excuse could it be taken to another dealer and fixed by them? Sorry Wonky for hijacking your thread!

Cost me $800 for the VT in 2003. Saved me a good couple of grand in suspension work, power steer and gearbox.
