Thought we need another excuse to put some more pics of our beloved utes.
Lets see what the Back of your ute looks like (or boot).
Ill start it with mine, clean and simple. Looking for ideas for when I get board in the future

Mate.. no offense.. but that IS NOT a ute.. it's a sports car with a large boot. What do you carry in there... your briefcase?
right now.. mine has dirt and mud everywhere.. scratches, blood, empty bundy cans and a few pairs of shoes.
Thats a ute.

This is the back of my old ute after a bushfire. Was the only thing that my family owned that survived. Almost went up in flames. Got it at the last second

No carpet in mine either. Just some ratchet tie downs, bungy tie downs, and a cheapo 60L storage box to stick stuff in that's held in place by more bungy ties. I'm to cheap to pay over $2000 for the cargo tie rails and super box
Also have a movers' blanket cos sheets of MDF don't actually fit without sticking out the back and I'd already taken some of the paint off the top of the tailgate :soap:

Not saying its not a nice ute, but seriously, they have a purpose and that is to haul shit around. Unless its a showcar, if you cant put something in the back of it without fear of dirtying it then whats the point?

This is the back of mine when I went up to the snow the beginning of May. As usual the back was full of surfboards, wetsuits, towels and this time around, snowboard, boots and the rest of that stuff. As I was getting changed this bloke walks past, looks in the back and says "jeez mate you got all the bases covered dont ya" made me laugh.

MJR_350 no dont leave the lid off in the rain....mainly cause of the wood under the carpet. The carpet does dry out when I have got it wet other wise

it brought an all new meaning to the term "drive bye's"
it got alot of attention... some good some not, but definatly turned heads... i wonder if the new owner of the ute (sold it 2 weeks ago) will keep the turf on there or not...
but it was great to lie down on in the sun... lol

Thanks, did it all myself..so it looked the part from a distance but up close a bit shoddy. The tailgate was done, from what i remember, in what they called unbacked carpet, i did the tailgate and over the wheel wells with that stuff..just drowning the carpet & bits on the ute in adhesive and using a block of wood or somethin to iron it out to the shape.

We use a hilux around the farm though, and we bought an F250 recently so I'm not too fussed, I see these utes as more street vehicles anyway.
