Went to a private track day at Wakefield on Friday, I elected to go the cheap option and bought a set of Bendix SRT (street Road track) to help combat brake fad. Bought Front and Rear for under $450.

Never been to Wakefield and haven't really done the circuit thing, but still managed to rip out 4 laps in a row at 1.13. Admittedly the were beginning to do funny things (fade a little) after 6 solid laps. But time didn't change to much. And when you get back to the pits you don't need a bbq, the discs were quite warm.

I think they were a good option, at 10% cost of big brakes. Have removed them again now as I think they would make keeping your wheels clean a pain, still have 3/4 of pad after doing over 70 laps at Wakefield.

Mmmm you trying to give me the bug for Improved Production aren't you. Good work. I am going to head down this track I think, my ute is to nice to bend.

Thinking a Rx7 series 3-4 with a LS1.

The original plan wemt a little off track. I had a 280zx with a turbo strapped to it that I bought off ebay cheap. I went for a run in a 280z at the last track day and it was serious fun. Had a atmo RB25 in it, but was quick (only 2 secs slower than the ute). Slower in a straight line, but the weight saving enabled it to be thrown around something cronic.
Anyway, I am booked in for a run at the end of the month at Wakefield, my wife is gonna debut herself in the ute, and i am gonna try to keep up with the dato.
I figure I flog the dato till it blows then maybe strap a LS1 into it. I already owned it, was cheap, and if I bend it bad its only $500 for a new body.
Welded up the diff, currently adapting 4 spot hilux brakes, just gonna be a toy. haven't got the money to go that serious at the moment.
