View Full Version : vz calais has heated mirrors ?
so i just bought an original sales brochure for the vz calais from ebay, and it states that both passenger and drivers have heated mirrors. it does not state wether this was an option or not, it simply says it. im pretty sure its not an option as all the other features listed around it are standard features.
now ive had my calais for 15 months now, so im pretty sure about the features it does and does not have. i am pretty confidant i do not have heated mirrors. mirrors that dip in reverse yes, heated no.
could anyone shed some more light on this

It was Rainy and foggy tonight, and my windows all fogged up. But now that I think about it, I don't remember the mirrors being foggy. I don't honestly know, but I guess you could take apart the assembly, see for yourself.

If they are heated, they will have a demister grid type symbol on them.
Are you sure the brochure is for the Aus market, as I haven't heard of it for local consumption until VE.

Dont think ya mirrors would fog up they r on the outside it is usually only the inside of ya car that fogs up:jester:

would the entire mirror be covered in lines (like the rear windows) or would it just have a small sticker.
the brochure is Australian
redbook and a few car ads ive seen seem to list it as a feature too....

Would be a small symbol. Heating element is behind the glass.
Perhaps it is part of the VZ de-contenting, depending on your production date.

is a typical US GM option, Corvettes have had them for 22 years or more... from what ive heard has more use for snowy climates... interesting to know Holden has them though...
they are usually turned on with your rear window demister....
again, recognised with the symbol on the actual mirror
hmmm, looks like i dont have them, cant see any logos on the mirrors...

My mirrors are logo-free also, and reading through the instruction manual when i was getting the exterior passenger mirror to dip, there was no mention of heating mirrors..
i guess, if your really curious, pull the mirror apart and see!
