Anyone know what sort of money and what is involved to modify the offset of 3 piece wheels. I have some that are suited to VE offset but am thinking about getting them changed to suit the VX. The fronts match but the backs are out by about +25mm. They are 19x10 with +50 so I need to get it down to +25 to fit.
Also if you know of places that do it please let me know. The wheels are KWC forged and were made and imported in the US so I can not exactly drop them off to the people that made them.
I thought about wheel adapters but I want to use these as everyday wheels. They are brand new and no tyres ever fitted.
I think this is what 3 piece look like. Could be 2 but not sure. If they are 2 piece how do you modify the offset on 2 piece then.

Looking at it it looks like a lot of work and lots of money. Plus it would end up with 7 cm or so of dish. These wheels are designed to fit the VE GTS brakes so stacks of clearance.

Can you not return them and have them modified to suit, maybe a couple a hundred bucks from the manufacturer or turn down the offset peice which i assume is the outer ring?

Listy are you sure that offset is out for a VT-VZ wagon/Avalanche?
I have 19 x 9.5 on a 45 offset and they fit ok. Reading US sites eg gto.com they recommend offsets asclose to 50 as possible to fit under the 2 door body. :1peek:

The avalanche they will fit fine but will be close according to the offset calculator and some ruler measurements. I was thinking about putting them on my GTS too. It is a sedan too. I did all the measurements on the GTS before it left and with 10s on the back I need that offset.
Just worried what the ride will be like in the avalanche with 19s and a lower profile tyre.

Not sure what you mean sorry. I was thinking that they changed the actual rim part to suit the offset but I was wondering is there other ways and also to stay safe.

There is no smoking bullet answer on this, you need to have the hoop remade to suit. (ie the front half of the wheel needs to be bigger and the back smaller. that join usually runs along the wheel where the centre will sit.
I honestly think that if they don't fit with that offset, nothing in that width will.
SORRY
You could always talk to Simmons.

That is the answer I was predicting. Might give simmons a call just to get a idea what I am looking at.
It looks like lots of money. Proberbly cheeper to get another set for normal 3 peice instead of these crazy priced things $6500 worth when the aussie dollar was near on par with the US. Hate to know now. (thankfully I did not pay that much). Still cruising around on that much worth of wheels and tyres is pretty silly too. Best to stick to show stuff with a set of wheel adapters. Not for street driving naturally.
