i'm helping a mate rebuild his HQ PREM, his old man thru out the seats and some other trim,so now to find some "bucket seats" have been told they are a bit difficult to come by these days! can anybody point me to where we might find some. any ideas:bow:

Hopefully someone here might help you out, otherwise it is as simple (and potentially time consuming) as setting up a search on ebay and watching a couple of, albeit often poorly functioning, other forums (e.g. oldholden, fastlane - hope this causes no offence to Admin, not a lot of LS1 discussion on those sites)
How difficult it is then might come down to how authentic your mate wants to be, and is he going to do a re-trim? First thing is he only willing to get HQ seats or will he put HJ-Z in? If HQ-only (best way to go I reckon, better looking seat - especially when re-trimmed in 'Premier' style which has a nice tuck and roll design) then there's some variation within HQ buckets (head restraints or not, hinge style differences) that can become an issue!
- very, very difficult to find a pair in the right trim and in good condition.
- difficult to find a pair in good condition
- not to bad to find a set suitable for re-foaming, upholstering
For instance, I would have said lately its been pretty good for HQ seat availability as there's been quite a few good sets for sale (around $400 - $800 the pair), but I just had a quick look and no HQ seats at all, good or otherwise.
What really worried me ... when you mentioned the throwing out of "... some other trim" - things like door trims, and smaller items are getting harder and harder to source. Biggest problem is that it seems current suppliers in business of re-manufacturing authentic door trims etc. are utterly hopeless.

thankx Gee, yeah he wants the sliding headrest out of the HQ and the rigid, but if a flip seat came along he'ld be happy to get them. we have sourced alot of the little items that DAD threw out but undoughtly will find stuff that he has also thrown out during the reassembly.
i've got a full interior from my LC GTR under my parents house, well i did have and i hope when i go to find my LC under the house it's still there! i have 2 perfect LC 2 doors that where in the trailor garage, until my dad moved the trailor and put them on the ground, i now have 1 very good door and 1 ****ed with rust! i wish they understood how hard some of this stuff is to find. Yeah, one man's trash is another's treasure :)
That's a good example - rigid but with a headrest... just dont see them or very rarely in my experience.
Seems I actually missed an HQ pair when looking earlier - see here (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HQ-HJ-HX-HZ-Monaro-Front-Seats_W0QQitemZ270406668514QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_C ar_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3ef57e50e2&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1|66%3A2|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0| 293%3A1|294%3A50).
I reckon this is the best looking style with the chrome hinge, and they adjust faster with the lever than the later style with the knob. Shame one of these has a broken lever. Give you a first idea anyway of price vs condition.
