Thats the exact height I would like to lower my clubby to! Could you come back to this thread in about a months time and let us know how you find it day to day? Ie. Driveways, speedbumps etc.
It's just at the stock ride height on my clubby I find it already a PITA!!

That is the problem with the HSVs, especially the VT/VX - the front bar is very close to the deck and is the reason why I'll stay at oem height, simply to save damage and negotiate my local roads.
Benny - looks absolutely spot-on mate. It is at a height that even I could go to in an SS/SV8 - great stance.
cheers

I thought Id have the trouble the other VT/X HSV boys are having with my VT R8, which is fairly on the deck, however Ive found it to be very liveable round town and I dont have any scrapage on my front bar(resprayed due to GTS color coding 8 months ago). The other guys should give it a shot, I found my VT HSV to have better ground clearence than my lowered VS Senator

How's your exhaust though? I find it's the undercarriage that takes a beating compared to the front bar. Although it's taken a little time to work out how not to scrape my front end out on driveways but it comes damn close everytime!
It's speed bumps that are my concern with the undercarriage scraping out with 1 in 3-4 times. BTW I have a twin 3inch which maybe part of the problem. For now I'm at stock height but would like to lower it with a good set of shocks as I want to get into doing trackdays and hillclimbs.

Very neat looking job - and those brakes look impressive too.
I think you'll find the front lip isn't too much lower than earlier models, but a lot squarer, which can make parking difficult. But I think it looks just right :)

Hi
From what you have said so far you would definitely benefit from our Extreme XA's. Not only because you could set the car up for track days but the heavier coils and shock control may help you reduce your scaping issues during day to day driving.
They do cost a bit but as you said you were considering doing some suspension changes to do track days etc, then the difference between that and the Extreme XA's versitility should makle it worth considering.

Cheers Scott,
Looking at BennyMacs ride height would there be a considerable improvement in handling there over a stock R8's (VTII), or would you recommend going even lower than that to get optimum performance?

I find my exhaust to be ok, I run a twin 2.5". The only problem I have is I have found in the 15 months of owning the car it has bottomed out on extremely poorly designed roads on maybe 3-5 occasions, so it really has never fathomed me and its only happened when people have been in the back of the car(still alil unsettling when driving down the highway at speed). I must admit though I am very dilligent and cautious when taking the car over speed bumps, out of driveways, speed bumps, etc.
To give you an idea, my R8 tucks tyre a bit in the front and the back just tucks rim on 19" VX GTS's.

looks great benny, those wheels really suit it.
What do ppl think is the best approach to negotiating driveways car parks etc where you have the dip for guttering. im finding it difficult to get out of some for fear of scraping which means i now avoid some shopping centres and petrol stations like the preverbial  i find going on an angle helps but still not 100%
mine sits like this

HSV,_I_GOT_ONE,
Lowered coils will improve handling to a degree but if you are looking at doing track days etc, then you really needt o consider the shocks as well to ensure you get the best times down.
If if the Extreme XA's are not for you then run the lowered coils with our GSR shocks front and rear and it will give you a package that will handle some track work while still riding well enough for you everyday use. You can also further tune the car wuith our adjustable swaybars at a later stage if needed.
HSV_CRUZN
Even with heavy duty lowered coils fitted the car will still drop in ride height with passengers on board. In certain circumstances bottoming could occour depending on the road surface or severity of the bumps encountered.
I find that I have to approached every driveway, speedhump etc on an individual basis in my VE fitted with our Extreme XA's. I have not been able to find a method
