View Full Version : Slight Vibration in rear VE GTS Auto
I've noticed a slight vibration in the rear end when the car is coming to a stop. Seems more noticeable when it is gearing down (auto) and coming to a stop. Also noticed that it is harsher when slowing from a higher speed to a quick stop.
Anybody had this problem or have an idea what could be causing it??
Thanks in advance

+1, Yep, vibration while breaking can be attributed to an issue with the disc rotor (slight warping generally caused by excessive breaking and hot spots caused by a super heated pad resting on the rotor).
If your getting the feeling of shudder in the drivers seat or rear of the car while breaking from high speed (say 100kph) it will be coming from the rear.
Shudder felt in the steering wheel (a wobble back and forth) will relate to the front discs.
Does the vibration limit as the speed reduces say at 60kph?. If not it might be a misaligned rear break caliper... maybe
Get it check out though.
Cheers

Thanks for the responses. I just had a MRC shock replaced recently (under warranty) that had leaked all the Magnetic oil over the rear. I had assumed this might have been the issue but its still there.
Ill get the brakes/discs checked out but I'm wondering whether it could be the diff, driveshafts or something in the drivetrain.
As for whether it does it while braking its only really noticeable as it gears down into the lower gear while coming to a stop.
Cheers,
