As per title - seen last weekend and doesn't appear on Holden's website. Car in the photo had fairly recent number plates so I'm thinking it's a test colour?:

Looks good in the metal, something I'd definitely consider if I was buying now (just in case the Holden paint people were hoping for feedback!)

Its called ATOMIC and is great in the flesh especially in direct sunlight after a good polish, as I did to mine today:)
Not a test colour its readily available from Holden. Not sure as to when it came into production but definitely on the 09 models. Maybe 08 aswell please correct me if I am wrong, not sure.

I remember hearing about Poison Ivy becoming a colour, maybe that's it?

It's *definitely* not Atomic, though.

It's definitely not Atomic. This is darker than Atomic and not as in-your-face.

Yep, that's it - and there's another photo in this thread that seems to confirm it:

HaHa it would help if the ute was clean and the pic was clearer But as I see the later post of the sedan is about 3 shades darker than the first pic of the ute. Could be my eyes and a few of the good ones under my belt bt the ute looks atomic to me, either way its one or the other!
Question: why would Holden release a new colour so close to the 2010 model launch or will they hold off and issue it to the new ones only? And if its a 2010 model thing only it looks from those pics that not a lot has changed cosmetically!

The ute is definitely not Atomic. Who cares either way? Both colours are shocking.. :stick:

Nah its not atomic. It does look lighter, but no where near enough to be atomic. The photo in the other thread shows poison ivy brightens up a fair bit in the light too. I prefer this to atomic.

Marco

Trust me, it wasn't Atomic - that's not a great photo because (a) it was an overcast day, (b) it was taken with my phone and (c) it was taken through my windscreen! But it definitely wasn't Atomic, and in my memory looks exactly like the colour on that sedan posted above.

I dont know whether I like it or not? Just hope holden dont go back to darker colour schemes as I reckon the brighter in your face colours from ALL manufacturers were the best idea they came up with for a damn long time. So sick of bein a sheep in the colour choice world. Choices are good!

yeah ive seen this colour in the flesh, not a fan at all, in the sun the clear coat looks like an oil slick. holden has also snuck out another test colour as well, they're giving that tiger colour another flogging, i saw an ss sedan-brand new- at a local dealership not long ago

Interesting how the colours can look so similar and yet so different depending on angle / light conditions.....

Saw a Poison Ivy VE in Newcastle yesterday - looked quite good. Certainly doesnt screem out as much as Atomic which is good. More along the lines of Karma - nice a subtle.

Just reading elsewhere that there are some other VE test colours getting around: Hazard, Alto Grey, Equator, and Lust. Anyone got pics?

The Brock
26-06-2009, 04:18 PM
Unable to locate a picture of Equator; saw it on a VE at Brian Gardner Holden in perth about 12 months ago

Lust - can't find a picture of this either; but Youngs Holden in Vic Park here in Perth had it on their lot for a while recently...

Here is Hazard (it's a touch lighter than Devil)

http://liveimages.carsales.com.au/dealer/carpoint/13052214.jpg

Alto Grey (not unlike Atlas Grey from VN SS)

http://liveimages.carsales.com.au/dealer/carpoint/12434506.jpg

There's been mention of these in other hero / trial colour threads on this forum; apologies for getting sidetracked from the green in question !!!

Lust - cross between Flame and Red Hot I suppose

Pretty sure I saw an SV6 sedan in Wildfire in Canberra last weekend then - thought it was Fusion at first glance, but this makes more sense.

Hey guys i work for the company that makes the exterior mirrors for the Holdens. There are three new colours coming into the MY10 update line. The two as stated above (Poison Ivy and Wildfire) and another one that is very similar to Devil Yellow and is called Hazard. Here are the pics:

Wildfire

Hazard

and also another colour (not sure if its been released yet and id say it will be an option on the berlina/calais/statesmans) is Cobra. Heres an example of it.

Cobra just looks like..... well poo lol Wildfire and Poison Ivy are my two new faves. Looking at possibly getting some Poison Ivy through work to spray the car in ;) hehe

Cobra has already been dropped. It was a MY09.5 colour. I'm currently driving a Cobra Calais V V8. It's not the best colour....

There was a small run of cars made in Hazard. We had a SV6 Sedan in Hazard. It's not going to be on an MY10.

Only Poison Ivy and Wildfire are MY10 colours.

ahh that would explain why i havent seen any cobra painted mirrors for a while at work. There is also another colour due to be released as well called Alto Grey. Not sure if its still going ahead or not but i have seen the paint sitting at work and also test painted on a few commodores too. Looks like a gun metal style grey. And on da ghia, yeah im pretty sure you guys already supply us with the paint as we have already started using it on our scalps for the mirrors. Wicked colour that. ;)

Perfect Blue is pretty cool

??? do tell. Is this another colour for holden? PM me if you wish mate. Would love to know more from someone that works for BASF as to what we may be getting in to work. hehe

oh and this is what Alto Grey looks like on the car....
