Does anyone know if the trutrac locks up on decelaration? Reason i ask i i'm told that it could unsettle the rear of the car when slowing down from high speed?
Thanks

No it won't. It only detects wheel spin, not lock up.

Not the Harrop one anyway on mine. Tried it from 200 plus and with full on brake and also backing off the accelator going down gears pretty aggressively with slight brakes and no issues even in the 6000rpm range going down gears where if it was to happen, it would.
That is just my car with the Harrop trutrak and with semislicks
Fact is if you go down gears hard enough and do compression braking with too low a gear any back end can lock up. Look at race cars it is either brake bias was wrong or they hit too low a gear.
To be honest it is a pretty strange statement as to why it would be related to a diff.
Any more details on where it happened or what circumstances.

They are designed not to have to wear them in. Just a oil change at 1000km is all you do.

Is that every 1000km or the first 1000km?

It hasn't happened but i had a chat with a friend and said it could be a possibility. He wasn't exactly sure himself, that's why i was after some clarification.
Thanks for the responses.
Our Truetrac LSDs work under accelaration and decellaration.
They are not lockers - they are limited slip differentials.
Hope this clarifies ...

Can you please explain how the harrop trutrac works under deceleration? I thought they were only 1 way LSD's.

You know what I mean but for the sake of others, after the first 1000km of driving after initial installation it is recomended that you do a oil change. As per the instructions
After that as per normal services depending on the purpose of your car. With mine I change diff oil every 5000km but my car lives on the edge of it life once a month and then has to take daily driver duties too. Proberbly over kill big time but it keeps Redline oils and autobarn happy and give me one less thing to worry about

Probably easiest explained by reviewing the Truetrac web site (http://www.eaton.com/EatonCom/ProductsServices/PerformanceProducts/Products/Differentials/DetroitTruetrac/index.htm) and the owners manual (http://www.eaton.com/ecm/groups/public/@pub/@eaton/@per/documents/content/ct_128482.pdf)

I'm sorry but i could not find anything that would answer my question.
Thanks Ken.
What is the slip percentage on the Trutrac?
There is not a "number" to indicate the slip percentage.
As a Truetrac's operation is based on friction load between the helical gears and the case/mating-gears, the "percentage" will vary dependant on the load - the more load, the higher the friction.
