+1 mate.

The VE SSVs look awesome on the VY... good work mate, and its a nice change from all the VY SS owners who throw Vy senator sigs on... i can't really talk, i have em on my calais but i justify it with, the original rims were heaps similar haha... anyway, my point was it looks awesome! I rekon if you painted the rims black it would look mental... just a thought... how long you had the car? well done anyway!

If you are trying to have rims repaired try a good panelbeater/spraypanter

I gave one of my VE SSV rims a fair bit of gutter rash, took it to local guy who is real good after repair ($150) I could not tell it had been repaired only give away was the two coats of clearcoat on it.

Very nice mate, especially for such a young'un.
Wish I could have had something similar when I was 20.

Have been tossing up for ages whether to fit the SSV's to a silver VZ, but that looks great.

Do they fit with the standard FE2 struts with a 245/35 tyre, or did you have to run a 225 etc?

Good luck with the future mods.
I have just completed nearly all of the mods on your list with my VZ and I'm lovin' it.

hey guys just thought id update this since it hasnt been done in awhile.
I have ditched the SS-V rims for a set of 19 x 8.5 inch Speedy Wheels "Cheetahs" with a black centre and chrome lip, and have also fitted a ripshifter.
About 3 weeks ago I hit a kangaroo so the car is off to the panel beaters for a month to get a new front bar a set of VZ SS fluted guards and the rear bar is being modified to suit a dual 3 inch exhaust that will run down both sides of the car resulting in quad tips.

The car was dyno'd at Powertorque Engines in Brisbane and it is making 219.4rwkw.

My next lot of modifications are:
textralia clutch
massive brakes (6 pot fronts, 4 pot rears)
cam and head package to mate with a blower
top mount blower
custom made OTRCAI to connect to blower
Bilstein shocks
Hurricane 4 - 1 extractors
Custom made dual 3 inch cat back system to run down both sides of the car with quad tips (VE SS style)

Any feedback, suggestions or advice would be great

Sounds like you got some very nice plans ahead.

Have seen a purple VY SS around Vermont in Vic with the system you are talking about, didn't really suit it IMO... The twin exits look good on the utes, but I don't think it really suits the VT - VZ sedans. Your car though :)

yeah I agree.....stick with the twin tips & NOT the quads. would look much cleaner imo

looks sweet though :goodjob:

So you reckon single tip out each side? does anyone have pics of this done to a sedan?

michaels1v8
19-01-2010, 12:01 AM
I'd stick with just the good old twin tips on one side.

The costs and effort involved in getting a second outlet on the other side of a sedan is IMO not worth it for the looks. I also imagine it would have some kind of effect on performance considering the tight bends involved to run the pipe behind the fuel tank for the right hand side exit.

Nice car though mate and it looks awesome as it is IMO

nope not what I meant sorry.....I mean have the twin tips exit side by side. NOT on each side

sorry for confusion

cheers

Yeah don't get a single tip, don't suit IMO.. Nice twin 3" stainless tips are the go. Don't get the chrome coated ones like Autobahn and Repco sell, you'll be forever polishing them and they still turn to sh!t

I have decided im going to run the exhaust out both sides looking under the car it doesnt seem that hard to have the exhaust running down both sides and it seems like there wont be any harsh bends in running it down the right hand side

MR57SS
12-02-2010, 07:30 PM
found out there is not enough room to run the zorst down both sides so dual 3inch normal system it is :) missing my car though its sitting at the panelbeaters :'(

Well guys its time for a bit of an update since there has been some changes
I had a new clutch (malwood option 3+) gearbox rebuilt and a new diff with 3.9 ratio fitted
then i had a set of 4 - 1 1 3/4 pacies fitted with 100cell cats and then it was off to Power Torque Engines for a new waterpump, 222/224 112 lsa cam valve springs and an otrcai and mafless tune.
car made 262rwkw and 713nm of torque and all i can say is wow it drives so much better and pulls like a 15 yr old
Next on the cards is a sound system for it then just touching up a few small things
Then i need to get a helmet and its off to Willowbank to see how it runs, my last attempt was with a rooted clutch box and diff and the only mods were a cat back exhaust bigger maf and a maf tune and it ran a 13.4 @ 99.8mph so hopefully ill pull something alot more impressive out of it
Ill post up some new pics soon
