My new toy :) pictures are as it sits, things like wheels, lowerd and sound system will be done in the next few weeks.

Exhaust: extractors, dual 2.5 inch stainless

Brakes: Premium Brakes: 343 x 32 mm ventilated and cross drilled front discs, 315 x 18mm ventilated and cross drilled rear discs, Four piston HSV front and rear callipers

Suspension: HSV Performance suspension system, will be getting ssl's on the front, sssl's on the rear

Wheels/Tyres: 19" ROH, these will be changed for 19" HSV wheels soon.

Interior: Full black leather seats and trims, coulson fron seats, white faces dials, gauge pod on dash (voltage and oil pressure)

I was wondering the same thing, but I thought a VY II R8 got the VZ R8 style seats, looking at the seats I am thinking this is a series I with 285 badges on it? Good looking car regardless.

Cheers guys. Yeah mate, only a s1. I looked around at a few s2's, but i didnt like the seats, or prices they were after. Coulson seats i think the better seat that HSV has done.

The car has the 285 badges, although i dont know why the previous owner changed them. One owner car so i couldnt pass it by.

great car mate, well done on the purchase. Yer coulsons are the bomb, best seats. I noticed yours are full leather, the Y series seats had mesh cloth inserts i thought. Anyway, top car and bring on mods! Like the plates too by the way.

I swapped my springs around today. She is sitting nice and low, well the rear is any way lol. I'll get the front done when i get the 20"s. I might raise the rear also once the wheels are on.

The clubby looks great and the the new height suits it but would hate to drive it around my way, the speed humps would drive me mad.
No more super low cars for me I love being able to drive anywhere with out scraping and in most cases with out slowing down.
When do the wheels get changed?
What engine mods if any are planned?

Went to Castle Hill Exhaust and got a quote for exhuast and tune.

- Full exhaust, pacemaker 4into1, 100cpi SS cats, dual 2.5" mandrel system $2300
-As above with custom 3" mandrel system $2800

-Custom MAFLESS tune $800

Also on the cards
-290kw Head and Cam package $2700.

As soon as i get my tax back I'll be getting 3" package, OTR fitted and tuned. The 3" is a little big for just a tune and otr, but that will save double dipping when i get the cam upgrade later on.

Gday Brett, yeah that was me, your looks nice dude, i didnt see who got out of the car or i would have stayed and said hi. Did you see the other VY r8 on the end of the units?

Dummy fitted otr and cut up the radiator cover. Should look alight after another lick of silver paint, polish of the otr, split engine covers and remove the airbox.

nar mate didnt see it...... but there always nice cars round that unit...... im half way through the process of making my clubsport shit because of defects..... so i was there demodding lol....
your engine bay is looking very tidy, how much cleaner does the engine bay look with a garnish around the OTR.... that filter boc will just pull out mate give it a tug.....

I think the ls1 motors are pretty ugly, but a few simple things can make a huge differance. Plus power levels :D

Split covers came this morning. But i cant be bothered to refit the otr and radiator cover for a completed picture lol.

yeah You have the same covers as me makes it look heaps better.

I got done by highway patrol for too loud and I have to pass a DECC noise and anti tamering test by yesterday.... lol... so i cant drive the car now. the test is heaps strict is sucks giant balls... and empties my bank account :vpo:
everything has to be stock pretty much which includes my otr going back to airbox.... dont get rid of your stock parts theres a word of advice....

Tax return is a good one this year, so next week the exhaust, cam, otr fitted and tuned :) 290rwkw baby. Spoke to Dave at CHE, should be good for 11s. HSV's have 3.73's and mines got a tex clutch. Just need slicks with some front runners.

yeah mate sounds like a good plan....... and theres better skill than me anyways..... those first few look out of a magazine....... ive got a "decent" camera..... nothing too flash but mine all come out looking like a kid took on em on a disposable camera lol....... i think its about lighting though which i didnt get a chance to put under any whilst it was in one piece....

The R8 was dropped off at Castle hill exhaust this morning. It was put onto the rollers for a power run. Managed 216rwkw stock. Should have it back wed :)

Im hoping for 11's with slicks from current setup. Once im bored of the power, I'll probly go for some higgins heads, fast manifold, bigger tb, double row timing chain. Should get some decent power out of that for a while.
