Thought I'd do a sumary thread like some others since the old thread found here Australian LS1 and Holden Forums (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=83128) was up to 15 pages long and nearly 2 years old

So heres the specs

Model: Holden Commodore VE SS sept 06 build, ordered march 07, picked it up april 07

Gearbox: 6 speed T56 manual
Diff: standard 3.45
Brakes: Standard
Suspension: Lovells super low springs, standard shocks
Wheels/Tyres: 20" Apec Delexi black and polished, Hankook ventus S1-Evo K107 245/35/20

Stereo: Pioneer 1000w 12" Sub and 800w mono block amp
Future Mods: 3.7s diff, 402 stroker, who knows what else

recently I've done a few cosmetic mods starting with a VY/VZ lion boot badge to replace the massive standard VE one and took off the "commodore" badge

before

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP1020edit.jpg

After

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP1489edit.jpg

and I've got some red/white walls put on my tyres

But this is the mod I'm most proud of getting done it just popped into my head one day so I photoshopped it and couldn't wait to get it done after I saw what it would look like. it was inspired by the fact I had to get a knife mark fixed in my front bar (thread on it here Australian LS1 and Holden Forums (http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=105963))

Thanks guys I'm so stoked with how its all come together and how the blackouts tie in with the stripes and rims
I just want to get one of ziggycv8z's grille inserts to replace the lion badge and then that'll be as far as I'll go with cosmetic mods, not much else I can do really, but I deffinatly want to get some 3.7s diff gears :burnout::driving:

Good mod the 3.7 gears mate. They will sharpen up the response hugely. Lot of opinions on the diff change but for me driving was alot more responsive and punchy with the diff upgrade.
Best of luck mate,

it is an 06 cos I bought it new during the 06 model runout sale holden had in march 07 so I got it at a good price, apparently they found it at a dealer 250kms out of adelaide and the dealer didnt want to send out a car carrier for just one car so it took 3 weeks to get it cos my dealer had to organise a truck to go get it
glad I could be some insperation for you

yep eveywhere I go it snapps necks :D and its not centred cos I used to have stickers either side of it and it was centred between them but I took them off after everyone said in the other thread they looked messy and I couldn't re centre it cos they're all individual letters :bawl: oh well

I would've liked to but cos its an 06 it has the 2 pins in the boot lion badge so when you take it off your left with 2 holes thats why I put the VY/VZ badge on so its something to cover the holes but doesnt stand out as much as the standard dinner plate

Got round to getting the 3.7 diff gears fitted today, I'm in love, so much more responsive and I can use 6th more while doing 80kms and still have some poke without it bogging down

I deffinatly recomend this mod to anyone looking to make their car feel quicker

I found the gears here http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Holden-VE-Diff-Gears-3-45-or-3-7_W0QQitemZ290337384463QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_P arts_Accessories?hash=item439974e80f&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

No sorry I didnt get a chance to talk to the guy and I didnt stick around long enough to see if it ran on the rollers, after I saw an F6 ute run 474kw and a turbo VY SV8 run 441kw I figured they woudnt get much higher figrues than that so I took off early

Has the new diff gears affected your fuel consumption? I was thinking of geting 3.7 gears heard it does no good for your fuel though? how many more revs do you do when your sitting on 100km/h. Cheers.

the fuel consumption is still around the same if not better cos I can use 6th more at 80kms so the revs are lower which uses less fuel and it sits on 1630rpm at 100kms so only 130rpm more than standard

Havnt updated this in a while so I thought I'd put up some pics of the latest mods starting with a pontiac G8 GXP rear diffuser thanks to Wonky for getting it for me

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP1820.jpg
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP1821.jpg

and one of Ziggys grille inserts thanks to ziggycv8z for that and DCV1NU for the donor grille so I didnt have to cut up my standard one

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP1823.jpg
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP1824.jpg

and the latest mod is a redone tint cos it started to fade over the year I had it to the point where it almost looked pink like this

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP1637smaller.jpg

but now it looks better than it did when it was frst done, it seams do suit the colour of the car better and its not as dark inside so not as hard to see out of

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP2215.jpg
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP2216.jpg
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP2219.jpg

Also this time I got them to do the rear window in all black cos last time I had stickers on the window and they burnt the image into the tint while it faded

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc283/redvess/IMGP2217.jpg

and for anyone wondering what it looks like from the inside wonder no more notice the difference in colour between the side windows and the windsrceen
in the first shot and the black tint in the last shot

Is 6th gear a different ratio in the A6? With a 2.92 diff in an A6, I'm doing 1500rpm. I reckon mine would rev a lot higher than 1630 with a 3.7 diff.

yeah pretty sure the ratio is different in the autos thats why people usully get 3.45s in them cos the 3.7s are a bit too tall for the auto

thanks Michael that was the idea I was going for, something different :)
