I have a 2008 VES SS commodore. It is a daily drive and have intention of completing any major modifications to increase power outputs etc. I am happy for a better fuel economy, increased driveability, response? etc.

I have currently a 2 1/2" Xforce cat back exhaust fitted. I don't know why but I am really wanting to add a set of extractors and cats.

I would probably add a set of Xforce Headers and cats to complete the system. Now I have narrowed it down to adding a set of 1 5/8" extractors with 2 1/2" cats or alternatively a set of 1 5/8" to 1 3/4" stepped headers with a 3" cat.

If this was your car and only wanted it for a daily drive car what would you add? and what could I expect by adding that particular type of extractor and cat. You could even say either set up is not going to make much of a difference and don't waste your time?

I am also looking having the car MAF tuned as well. Maybe just that tune only instead of cats and extractors who knows???? No OTR or the like at this point in time.

I don't want to get into the "this header and cat is better than this header and cat" debate. Only going down the Xforce path. If you're not sure of the Xforce brand perhaps a comment on the actual sizing of the mods would probably help me.

Stepped Headers are a good thing mate.
They improve the exhaust flow massively and also improve power and torque too.
They sound good and perform well for their dollar.
They will also handle above 300 rwkw's no problem so if you planning on going down the mod avenue later on they will be ok.
Good bang for buck and there are a few sets around for sale too.
Keep an eye on the for sale section and maybe speak to a sponsor for more detailed advice.
Cheers,
Andy.
