Heaps of Pat Golds we have used and they are great. I know a head builder in the USA that has used hundreds of sets and has had zero failures or problems. If you want to go revving over 7000rpm though - best to use Pat Extremes.

Are they noisy at idle and under operation?

You'll have an increase in valvetrain noise once going the cam route no matter what but a good motor oil will always take the edge of it to a degree :)
I run dual Manley's btw.

They are a great spring and I have never heard of a failure yet. They are a tad on the noisy side though. You have to expect that with a head a cam change with the valves opening and snapping shut.

But is it noisy in a bad way though?
Or do all the other awesome sounds that come with a cam change overule it?

would you rather put good ones in even if there a little noisy, or put in shitty ones that will snap as soon as you hit 5500rpm just cause there quieter? you shouldnt need doubles unless your going to a pretty monster came.

There is only a little valvetrain noise. It's not offensive at all and I only hear it if I'm sitting next to another car at lights or in the garage. I can't hear it at all once I'm moving.
I would assume that the noise is coming more from the aggressive lobes(X-ER) and high lift(.581 .581) on the cam more so than the springs.
I'm also running the stock push rods and I've been told that going to 25thou longer rods will reduce the noise.
