Holden engine exports will more than triple in number in the next four years ''as a result of meetings'' between a Federal Government trade delegation and parent General Motors in Shanghai. http://business.theage.com.au/business/holden-motor-exports-rev-up-20090713-di9b.html

"Holden engine exports will more than triple in number in the next four years said Senator Carr said earlier during his trip after meeting with Holden parent General Motors in Shanghai."

Well let's hope this is not another politician bullshitting on...

How many engines does the engine plant actually produce? Unless it makes less engines then I thought, I would imagine that 20,000 exports is actually only a small growth in percentage terms of total production output (eg less than 10% more(?). Unless it's a tripling in exports to China only?

The plant currently produces 6000 per year.

I take it that these motors end up in the Buick Park Avenue (ala Statesman)?
