Yup passed the checks (he does have finance on it, but I can get a VSR for that).
Paid $47500 + OR which isnt the best deal ever, but the car is absolutely immaculate, first reg'd March 08 and low k's.

Awesome looking car - well done. I think the price is realistic for an excellent car - it's only been on the road less than 18 months, and with only 12,000Km on it, you've done well - as long as that finance stuff was properly sorted. Any idea what the first owner paid for it - I'm thinking near $15K or maybe even more. He would have paid less than RRP as he bought it in '08, but it's 07 build. I think March '08 was probably a bit before HSV announced the LS3, so it still wouldn't have been cheap.

yeah they're 22's. Also just put on the 20" GTS wheels painted black today going to use for a track day also like the look all black very tough!

M1SSV8
02-08-2009, 10:14 PM
thankya! I love black rims on a black car, but prefer a silver lip. But then again if I didnt have a silver lip, the redwalls might be just enough to break it up

The other option I thought of was painting the callipers black, and having black rims with a silver lip - get a black and silver "theme" going.

But you just threw a stone into the works with the mention of redwalls. hmmm :goodjob:

TR33VV
02-08-2009, 10:20 PM
Maybe black rims with a thin white wall could pull off the look your after... Just food for thought...

Hey Kristie I like the look but I reckon a Senator spoiler would be a great addition & it would fill those holes up to.

AFAIK, the Senator lip and GTS spoiler have different hole positions to each other. So you won't necessarily be filling those holes up, more so just covering them up.

And +1 for no spoiler. I prefer cleaner backs.

Unfortunately Kristie that looks more the result of an accident. Factory paint doesn't tend to chip off like that whereas resprays are more prone to it.

Wonk, the pic doesnt really show the best detail... but it looks like they put the spoiler on whilst the paint was still wet. Its not chipped but more scraped...

Ill try and get clearer pics as its hard explaining it

P.S anyway I can find out if its been in a accident?

Also swapped the Silver Dash Trim from my old SS... looks 100% better I reckon and not sure why its not standard in the R8?!
Kristie I changed to the silver trims in my SSV. I also did the steering wheel trim too. It looks great so that may be an idea for you !!

I'm loving your ride !!!

Nope Ghosn that is not correct. HSVGTO did it with His old GTS & both the Sen & GTS spoilers use the same holes

Oh well, that was the information I was given by a senior HSV Dealer ... In that case, better for me as I will most likely be converting mine to a Senator lip down the track.

how do you find the ride height? much scrapage around shopping centres, driveways etc? I'm keen on walkinshaw springs/25mm drop

cover with some touch up paint and not letting it fully dry then putting the spoiler back on

looks good spoilerless and yeah a senator lip would finish it off but at $800 for the part plus painting........its a hard decision

no way really ,
you can check your plates at the VicRoads (http://www.vehiclestatuscheck.vicroads.vic.gov.au/VehicleInput.aspx) site
but that'll only tell you whether it's been written off , which it hasn't

Ride hide is fine... have had no scrapage at all bar one driveway which I reckon a standard height car would scrape on anyway.
Im actually getting is lowered more.

It actually looks like the spoiler was put on while the paint was still wet ( its only touch dry as opposed to dry dry!), and scraped/smudged the paint on the edges
 EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS! NO THANKS :spew:

Did check before purchase XUV, but as you said it only says if its been written off - no small accidents.

and yes $800 for the part + about $150ish for painting you wont get much change from $1K! thats the price of a HSV badge....the calais lip spoiler is only $200...a whole 25% price of the HSV version

nah the calais one doesnt fit on the HSV..not made for the boot lid and quarter panel shape....have to go senator one unfortunately its the premium of being an exclusive HSV owner :p

I think this accident damaged R8 was a better buy than the other accident damaged one you nearly bought.

Another vote for the Senator lip. Spoiler-less looks odd, whereas the Senator one looks quite smart and not over the top.
