Well ive been looking at these site for years now on my bros account but its about time i got my own. i have had the car for just over a year now and had a VT R8 b4 this one

took her out to the drags for the first time a few weeks back at phoenix lights (QLD) and run a best of 12.2 @ 116mph on 17 street tyres so im very happy with that and will heading back out soon looking for 11z :)

very nice set of wheels you got therebuddy, I love the black it always looks nice espicially when its clean. I reckon the cars pretty much perfect now too with ur mods, all id be doing is lowering it just a tad and Id be happy.:goodjob:

My car is in at Pedders at the moment getting some XA adjustable coilovers and nolathane bushes etc so i hope later this arvo to have a much better handling car with a slightly lower stance.

i got the bonnet re-sprayed so got it de-badged at the same time. im very happy with it as i think it makes it look at lot cleaner

+1 to that! I always wondered what an VZ HSV would look like with VZ calais tail lights, and imo it's awesome! that looks a million times better than the stock acclaim style ones. Best visual mod you can do from the back. Well done mate.

No wonder she was loud as hell!

Oh sweet! Running a 4500 stall and MT Drag radials. It 60fts great but lacks top end at only 108.8mph....unopened engine though.

after that some tein coil overs and when i get back from afgahn late next year ether BIG n/a 440ish ci or a tt kit, would love both but thats a lot of coin :vpo:

ive still got the original rims as i still use them, and the 3.9 gears work really well, you can really feel it pull harder in all gears, think if u have all the bolt on mods and dont wonna go can diff gears is the next best thing

well took it out to willowbank on wednesday nite best time was a 12.4 @ 118mph, not my best time but my best MPH,
i was running kings SSL springs in the rear end so couldnt lunch as hard as id like,

ill be putting the standed springs back in and goin out again next wedneday nite to try crack a 11sec pass i so badly wont

Well got my tax back :) and now im looking at getting 20' rims as i had to give the VE gts's back to my mate or coil overs.

Not sure weather to go with Tein's or the new Pedders coil over range, i will have to look into them both and see witch is the best

My mate has Pedders in his VE and prefers mine, says the quality of the ride is better. Not to mention you can rebuilt the Teins if something happens, you have to chuck the pedders in the bin. They are like every other unit made in China

Well i have been thinking about it for a long time now and ive made my mind up and going F.I when i get back from my tour of Afghan next year. The big question now is TT or big single.
i will be building the motor with the aim of lowering the comp to suit F.I nothing crazy but just pistions,rods with L98 ported heads and fast manifold.

i would like to get around 450rwkw but at the end of the day as long as it drives well and gets good times at the strip ill be happy

Sounds good mate, just let me know when :) The only suspension mod I have done is the Tein's, I don't think I will do anything else until I have the cam installed which will hopefully be in the next week or two... Gotta call up Hi-Torque and book it in for when I'm not busy haha.

Me and a few of my mates will be doing the intall as for the tuning im not 100% sure yet but ive got a few options, hoping to run into the 10s but ill have to wait and see

Well just a lil update, took the car out to the drag day on saturday and got a new PB 11.9@119 :P

ive been trying for a while to crack the 11's and im happy i did cause now finally the turbo install can start, doing most the work at home with some mates so hoping to have it up and running in a few weeks,

then ill be back to the track chasing a 10. :)

I ended up with 12.25 @ 112, 1.69 60ft. I need to sort out the tune with it before heading back out again. Hopefully i can get 12.1 or 12.0 once its done. HOPING, being the key word lol.

Hi-Torque will be doing the tune and a few custom things for me,

Well time for an update, got the car back and its making 583rwhp at 11psi and 518 at 8psi

im over the moon with the car, ill try get some new photos up tomorrow, if this rain ****s off


i will be taking it to power play in Jan then drag racing it to see what she has got

Car looks awesome mate. But why no filter on the turbo? Ive seen a few of the Hi-Torque cars being finished with the chicken wire mesh over the intake rather than a proper filter setup. (?)

Cheers mate, im running the mesh just for now till i find a filter that fits,

a normal pod filter isnt going to fit and i cant even get a 90deg bend in to run a filter being the bar,

well i got the new engine mounts in and its still hasn't fixed the problem of the turbo hitting the bonnet :(

so now i am taking the turbo and manifold off to get say 3-4mm shaved off both flanges and see how i go from there,

if this doesn't help ill be all out of ideas

Do a custom bonnet mate either from fibreglass or steel! There are plenty of places around that would do this for you and then you have a "one of a kind"!

I wouldn't go shaving flanges etc as they're at a thickness for a reason dude!

ALFA motor sport fitted the scoop in vic then had a joint in Brissy finish off the rest of it a paint it, it needed alot of work though

Well headed out to the track last nite, first pass was 11.3 @127 MPH with a 1.7 60foot

im very happy with that as i wasnt driving it super hard and know its got more in it, Eboost was only showing 8psi but should be running at 11, so ether the Eboost is playing up or theres a problem somewhere, im half hoping it was only making 8 :P

second pass the car got out of shape so i backed off for a 15.xx then noticed i had a flat :(

pumped it up then found it had a puncher :(

so all in all very happy

manifold and E85 tune should be getting done in the next month or 2, im walking the Kokoka trail, leaving wednesday so will have to wait out a lil

Plus i want a few more runs as is to see if i can crack that 10


Its great to run a good number,im going out this sunday the 17 at wsid to se if i can better the 11.3 but on et radials it aint guner hapen il have to invest
in sliks,whats the ofset or back space on the rims as i have a vz as wel.

its to suit LS2 heads i ditched the L98 heads so i could use this manifold

11.2 @ 127 with free revving at 5k and slipping the clutch then

tryed loading the motor up with the hand brake and fried the tyres off the line first go, then on the 2nd the clutch didnt wanna play :(

hay mate, best 60 on the nite was 1.66 and there 26x8s

thats just free revving it to round 5k and slipping the clutch, so not really getting any boost off the line :( i think once i can get some boost off the line my times will improve to want im after

yer mate, covers are a bitch to fit, had to be cut and were hitting about everything in the bay they could so took some stuffing around to make them clear everything

You can't buy that manifold for an LS3/L98 yet? Not even summitracing lists it as of yesterday. I wanted to run one on my L98. Only for LS2/LS1 etc.

Well the fuel rails, injectors and new braided -8 line have been put on :D looks so good now

only thing is im not gonna be able to get it retuned for about 8weeks :(

Hey mate great looking car. How come the Edelbrock cover were so hard to fit? What did you have to do to get them to fit, have always liked these but have been put off with everyone saying they are so hard to fit.

Well they have to be cut to clear the brake booster and for me the dump pipe, the bracket holding the power steering res had to be cut,
the dip stick holder was hitting and had to be offset, then there some sensors bolted to the front of the head near the T/B that had to be moved,

The coil packs have to be removed and and then attached to the covers, then bolted to the heads, then the spark plug leads are a massive bitch to get on, plus a few other lil issues that poped up on the way,

the look is worth it but :)

Well its been a while,
the car is ready to head off to HT to get tuned with the new intake and E85, only thing is it will have to wait about 6weeks as im in Canada for work,

been told the 408iron block from NJC should be done round the time im home also :) so have alot to look forward to when getting home and B4 i go to Afghan again

im not going to but the 408 in till i crack 10.8 @ over 130 with the stock bottom end but im should ill get it with the new intake and E85,

as for the time with the 408 in i have no real goal yet, being a M6 will make it hard but a 10.1 would be nice :D

Cheers matem ive seen 2 other cars with it, that just had holes in the bonnet and i wasnt a fan, but one was blue and the other red so it really stood out

could look ok on a black car, though, let me know how u go with it

How longs a peace of string :P , Re-tune with manifold and E85 will be done early Nov when im back and as for the motor hoping before xmas but good things come to those how wait,

As for power first up over 600rwhp is the goal
then with the 408 aiming for over 800rwhp but only time will tell
