Hi all
I had a phone call from a mate earlier today with some bloody bad news, he purchased a set of used XA coilovers that had only been used for three months and taken off the car.
He picked them up yesterday and were left in the back of his wagon over night and as per usual either he or the wife had not locked the car.
This morning he went out to grab his case out of the car and noticed that not only was his case gone but also the extrems, needless to say he is totally shattered
His case contained about $3k's worth of computer parts but he is more upset over the extremes and even more hurt that his insurance company have thus far denied liability due to the car being unlocked:vpo:
Please be on the look our for someone offering these at a good price
Thanks
Edit post
They were taken from the Sunbury area

That really sucks but why would anyone not lock their car no matter where it was parked especially with valuables in the car??

Might be a good idea ( depending on where it was parked ) to see if its covered under house insurance, if the car is under the eaves of the house, he may be in luck.

Hi guys
Both my mate and his wife are very security conscious and would not normally leave the car open at all, the feeling is that one of the kids were playing with the keys but they are not 100% sure.
i can relate to this as my little one has unlocked the car and poped the garage door playing with my wifes car keys

Yeah they were advised to do that but because the car was in the drive way its not covered
He should have said that the car was broken into not left it unlocked. And should have said it was in the garage.

LOL i thought the same thing but knowing this guy it does not supprise me at all him telling them exactly what happened. Damn he is so straight up that people have stopped asking him for an honest opinion as get it and most times dont like it.

The police turned up at his place and asked if he would identify some of the computer equipment which he did, he didnt mention anything like a file at all.

Hopefully the arrest can lead to the coil overs being recovered.
Talk about unlucky especially if they are ver security concious. Mind you I dont think I would leave $5-6 thousand worth of equipment in a car parked out the front just in case.
We were lucky a few years ago a mate bought his fresh 200sx down, bright pink with the 20's on. Parked it in the shed on a pretty bad main street and locked it up for the night. Went out the next morning and somehow through the night in amoungst a few drinks someone must have bumped the door opener as heres this bright pink car in all its glory - thankfully untouched with all the tools etc still in their place.
