Well we are at point of NO return. My husband Peter & Son Mick (duz12s) took the engine & gearbox out of our SV8 on Saturday.:goodjob:
We are putting in a 232-234 comp cam & heavier valve springs, restalling our stall convertor to 4000- 4500 stall. We have the car booked in at Power Torque for 8am Friday morning.:smilesandbanana:
We would like to give Mick a very big THANK YOU for all your help. We would also like to Thank Paul (mr berlina) for use of his tools. We both thank you very much.
The new cam is already in & at present changing springs. All work is being done at home by Mick & Peter.
Engine bay, engine & gearbox WILL be cleaned & detailed before engine goes in.
Looking forward to seeing what times it runs at the drags. It ran 12.89 with just mafless tune & 3.9 diff gears.
Wiil keep you posted on progress.

Throw up some pic's I had a red SV8 a few years ago.
12.8 is a fast time for an auto without a stally, Power Torque really know their stuff.
Cheers

12.89 with standard convertor, ran 12.90s with 2800 stall. Tune was done by ols108 (Dave) Removed some tune, so gears shifted less harchly. Had oxygen sensor problems. It ran 12.89 in summer, couldn't tell you exactly as time slip has faded. Ran 12.90s @ 107mph last street meet, in July.

Update.
Got the convertor back Tuesday morning, put engine & box back in the car & fired up by 5.30pm Tuesday. Extractors started glowing after app. 10mins of running, shut down so they could cool off then restated to get oil up & check for leaks.:goodjob:
Off to Power Torque Friday morning, all went well. 350 rear wheel HP. Peter is rapped, he was hoping for around that.
Temp comes up a bit at lights, then drops back, still air in radiator & power steering. Over all Very Happy with all.
Once again a VERY BIG, THANKS to Mick (duz 12s), Paul ( Mr Berlina), & of course Husband Peter for all the work on the Shopping Trolley.:jester:

Car went back to Power Torque this morning, Stalls in reverse, tries to stall when power steering is on full lock & turning corners. Just needs base idle adjusted & a few tweeks done. Over all very happy with the outcome.
Just love the way it rocks at lights.
Hoping to go to the next street meet on the 5th September. Borrowed a set of street slicks from Paul, looking forward to seeing what times it runs. Very low 12s high 11s. would be great.

So what size stall are you running now? About the right HP for that sized cam.
Good luck running the times now :goodjob:

Good luck - hope you crack that 11!
Just saw what the weather is like for tomorrow night - that's the sort of conditions you want to see how it will really run!
