Hello all,
New to the forum after being in the 4wd scene for a few years. Sold my Toyoto Prado about 6 weeks ago and purchased my black Cally last weekend.
It is a 2008 Calais V 60th Anniversary edition with all the usual features plus a few extras like sunroof and a bit of extra chrome. The car is standard at the moment apart from the superlow King springs I fitted last night :)
I don't think I will be doing too much apart from a OTCAI and decent exhaust system. It goes fairly well after getting out of a diesel Prado:woot: If anyone has a few tips on how to take better photo's of a black car it would be a great help.
Hope you like it....

Nice car - I have the same in Evoke. Owned it 8mths now and still only 4500 kms on the clock.
Yeah, you say the power is enough but you're here now so bad luck because the power is never going to be enough. I came out of a black VE Calais V6 and the power in my current ride was amazing - at first.
Now I am thinking it would be good it if got up a little quicker from lights and the gearbox was a little more "refined" so a tune, CAI are probably in order. I cant do much else because the boss says now but she cant see a tune or a CAI so that doesnt count.
Anyway - you have a sweet ride and great taste in cars. Enjoy !

LOVE the calais mate, and the fact thats its LS2 is even better! There are too many V6 Calais' on the road, i find myself always looking out for quad tips at the rear to distinguish if it's a "good" Calais or a "shit" one haha... i can't talk i own a VZ V6 calais ,P plater laws restrict me :( A V8 Calais is just a really special thing imo. They are luxury as far as you could ever wish, and go bloody hard when you want it to. Well done mate, you have excellent taste! The black is awesome on the Calais too, Goodluck keeping though :P

Nice looking car you've got there. Black VE Calais V with spoiler looks excellent, big wheels show it off. Well done I think you'll love that car. I think if I was getting a VE, a black Calais V is the pick - and as Calais190 said it's got to be one of those good Caalais with the quad exhausts!

It's not got the LS2, got what many would say is a better engine, the L98.

Been a long time since updating my thread and I can say not much has happened to my Calais since apart from fitting a HM catback to make it sound like a V8!!!.
I have been busy at work and saving up for a new shed :)
It will be 9m wide by 7m deep and will have enough height for a mezzanine floor and a 2 post hoist :xmas:
Some photo's of the slab prep, should get concreted next week.

If you are going to get a 4wd you can't go wrong with the Prado. A V8 is something that you can't get out of your blood. I sold my mint VN SS to get the Prado and everytime you hear a V8 you just want one again :buff: We did some awesome trips in the Prado though so it was worth it in the end

A shed is in a man's DNA - a modern day cave if you like :jester:
Thanks for the photo tip
