I have the VE SSV Ute 2008 which is the MY09. Over the past year I have had my battery go completely flat around 4 times now and my Holden dealer has had the car over 2 separate occasions to rectify the fault causing this to happen and have failed to find anything causing the battery drain.
I know there's a thread on this already but for the first time on Saturday I had the "Battery Saving Mode" message on my screen and it couldn't be removed until I actually turned the car off and went for a restart.
I have never seen this message before and this morning....guess what?

FLAT BATTERY!

When I say flat battery, it basically needs to be jump started and then everything seems fine. There must still be something that is telling the software etc that it is still on and is drawing a current.
MY DEALER CAN'T FIND ANYTHING!!!!!!!
Do I try another dealer?

try another dealer
which one u currently using?

also what has been done to rectify the issue?

there has been as u may have read software upgrades, new batteries, etc to sort this out.
Most cases the software update with a new battery at the same time = FIXED

Mine did exactly the same and one morning .....dead flat...:bawl: Day before was BATTERY SAVER MODE..Rang them and they couldnt get me in for 3 or 4 weeks:flipoff:
Turned out mine was the light under the hardlid staying on full time.
Holden fixed this prob.
What model ve do you have ute , sedan , wagon.
If you have any glovebox lights or hardlid lights check them first.
Blardy holden took forever to find out it was something so simple.
Best of luck mate,
Andy.

Ive had exactly the same problem on my VE SS sedan, It has gone completly flat just like yours without a reason, Jump start it and its fine for a few more months. Until it does it again.. I recently did an intermediate service and i mentioned this too the dealer and his response too me was "Ill check it out, its a problem we see almost everyday"... So i had the car serviced and i got a phonecall saying im getting a new battery under warranty and they are putting in new software too fix the issue. So far so good

So there is a fix too this issue, maybe try another dealer.

My MY09 GTS did this 2 weeks ago. Lucky I had my rinkydink Supercheap $40 charger. Let it charge for 2 hours and I was ready to go. I didnt think I left any lights on etc but it was DEAD flat... as the power increased in the battery i could hear my horn alarm starting to go off (factory one, although no idea why it started howling like a banshee since it doesnt have a proper alarm?)

RIG!

I'm using Rockingham Holden....:vpo: They said they did the software route even though they couldn't pin point the problem and they even re-charged the battery. They had the car for 2 days! :bawl:

the constant going flat and not fully recharged has probably shagged the battery as in its dropped a or many cells hence why it doesnt crank over but a jump start of a few minutes on charge and its fine.

if u really want u can go to most decent battery shops and get them to LOAD TEST the battery..chucking a tester on wont do fuuck all just tell u it has XXVolts but the LOAD TEST will see if the battery is shagged or not.

What I don't understand is that it has been about 5 months since this happened last then all of a sudden it's flat. There must be something that is continuimg to draw a current from the battery whislt in sleep mode on certain occasions...or it just isn't entering the sleep mode sometimes!!! If the battery is fine then this will keep happening surely.....until the culprit is narrowed down and soughted!!!!! :bawl:

Nothing has changed. It happens at totally random intervals, but Saturday was the first time ever that I have had the "Battery Saving Mode" message.

Thx Eddiei use this little baby.
trickle charger and used for batteries that are left unattended for a while as it maintains the charge.

My '06 VE Clubby had the software upgrade and battery replaced back in '07. It often sits around without being driven for several weeks and still kicks first time without hesitation. Going flat in 1 week sounds like there is a problem happening somewhere.
