bought some slicks and front runners last night on rims. all in very good nic.
my question is.
MT full slicks and nankang front tyres. i thought slicks were cross plys.
the nankangs are nylons. 5.60 x 15.
so are they safe to use for drag racing when using slicks.
i know you are not meant to mix radials and cross plys.
cant seem to find much info on the net about these nankangs.
my biggest concern is the saftey of using these tyres with slicks.
can anybody put some light on this.
thanks.

im interesested in to why you cant mix em up??

i thought it a no brainer on maybe left/right on the rears not to be mixed up.

but front/back?? should it matter =?

radials have an R in front of the diameter size. Your slicks should be cross ply.
They require cross ply because they don't react to steering input as quickly so you won't tank slap down the track.

thanks for your help guys. got the ok on the tyres. they are good to go.:)

never use cross ply slicks on rear and radials up front. you are asking for drama doing this. if things go bad it could be your life and your competitors. its not safe.
