Gen 3 engine question

Hi Guys,
I've just purchased an LS1 and want to know which model it's out of. From what I've read on here, the VX LS1's had the LS6 manifold and larger injectors. The problem is I don't know what model it's out of, so what do I look for? I was thinking maybe the engine number prefex would tell me????

You can tell the year the engine was made by the engine number,
mine is a 2001 model and the engine number is VF01053XXXX
the 01 after the VF indicates it is a 2001 engine, VF02 would be a 2002 engine etc.
